From the moment we checked in, we were made to feel at home and welcome here. One of the easiest check-in's we've had. The lobby was clean and inviting; the grounds beautifully landscaped, and the room light, airy and very clean. My husband was impressed with the extra clean bathroom, fluffy towels and very comfy bed. The bathroom was small but adequate. There was a nice kitchen (which we didn't need) with a full size refrigerator, microwave, dishes, etc. Would be great for families with kids, or folks who like to have some meals in the room. We spent a lot of time on our ocean front balcony (all rooms oceanfront), and sitting in the spacious lawn chairs under dozens of majestic coconut palms. The night lighting on the palms was an awesome sight....they don't have lights on the balconies or the beach, so you can sit and enjoy the sounds and sights of the gulf without being blinded. There are facilities for cooking out or piicnicking under the tikki huts, as well as a lovely pool and assorted other activities. Two newspapers are at your door each morning. The continental breakfast is so-so....pastries and fruits, coffee, juices. If you want a substantial breakfast, there are restaurants within walking distance at Times Square. Two restaurants we enjoyed for dinner were "The Bridge" and "Snug Harbor"...both waterfront, both feature fresh seafood, both nearby. We are early diners and were pleased that both these restaurants offer Early Bird Specials.....

The hotel seems to have an extensive staff that was always working mowing, blowing, trimming, watering. The place looked well loved and cared for.

The fishing pier is nearby, and there are little shops and restaurants surrounding it.

Fort Myers Beach in general was "seedier" than we remembered. Lots of construction, renovation, changes going on. They, like Tybee Island in Georgia, seem to have gotten greedy. Everywhere you go you pay $5 to $9 to park.....they want your tourist dollars, but seemed to be trying to make us feel unwelcome. You get a parking pass at the hotel, and the restaurants do have some free parking.(if you know where to look) We just walked a lot.

September was a great time to go....prices are lower, less crowding, and the weather was knock-down gorgeous! (We had an awesome bright rainbow out over the gulf one morning that stayed a good 30 minutes. Glorious! If Ft Myers is in your plans, be sure and check this hotel.

My hustband and I stayed here for an end-of-summer long weekend. The pictures on the web-site don't lie. The lobby is beautiful but it's the rest of the hotel that really counts. We are not smokers but had to stay in a smoking room because we took our dog. There was very little odor of smoke in the room - almost unnoticeable, and the room was very nice, comfortable, and well- equipped. We had a fabulous view that made that kept us drawn to the window. Breakfast was more than adequate and staffed by a very friendly gentleman. The grassy area under the palms with the adirondack chairs was a great place to unwind. It was great to swim in the pool without leaving sight of the beach. The beach had a lot of seaweed on it and it would have been nice if it had been raked a low tide but that still didn't spoil the experience. Restaurants and shopping are nearby and you can walk to many of those places. We would definitely return to stay again.

Fort Myers was the destination of the 2nd week of our holiday in April 2006. The Best western looked a bit grim on it's approach .But we wre pleasantly surprised by the balcony view and the fantastic sunsets
The hotel was basic ,but clean.
We enjoyed both its location ,that restaurants and shops were only a stone's throw away. The kids (10 ,12 ) were able to enjoy the pool facilities with towels available at the reception and also the beach- with dolphins almost in touchable distance.
Found Fort myers to be a bustling resort with lots of restaurants and shops. For us it was the chill out after disney we needed.Kids enjoyed the doughnut breakfast, the hotel parot Coco.Adults enjoyed the beach bars and restaurants.Trip to the Everglades.
Hotel staff always friendly and courteous

I read many reviews for other hotels in FMB and they sound frightening. I just returned from a few days at the Best Western Beach Resort and I couldn't be more pleased with the place. It's NOT the Ritz but the digs were more than we expected for the money.

We got the best rate on the room dealing directly with the front desk. The breakfast is Dunkin' Donuts and some fruit, coffee, juice. They provide wireless in the lobby.

Just about everything the other positive reviews state.. I would agree upon. No need to rewrite what you may have already read.

I'm not certain FMB would be my first choice of places to revisit in Florida but if I were.. Best Western Beach resort would be my first place to book.

Just got back, annual memorial day weekend trip. Once again the stay was great. free continental breakfast and newspaper every morning. All rooms face the beach. They have just upgraded the bathrooms. New tubs, toilets and sinks. Much cleaner than before. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to ft. myers beach public shops and restaurants. I also recommend tetley's steak and stone restaurant. If you have a dog this place is great for a small extra charge you can bring them. You never hear any of them during their stay, very quiet at night. Great place for a relaxing vacation.
The rooms all have a full size fridge and kitchenette. You will not regret staying here.
The one and only downside is parking. It is very limited, only 1 spot per room. We had a friend visit us from Tampa and she had to pay $10 to park about a 1/4 mile down the road. Other than that the stay was good as usual.
