We discovered this hotel 2 years ago. If you want a spotlessly clean, no surprises type of beach accommodation, this is your place.

We like to park the rental car, park our butts on the beach, and watch the world go by. This hotel is the perfect setting for this. Located just north of the Times Square area on FMB, you can spend the day on the beach, get cleaned up, then take a short walk to Times Square for a casual dinner.

This is not your typical over-used/abused, tired looking Fla hotel property. Everything is updated and is kept up well. Nice kitchenette, full sized fridge, flat screen tv and free wifi. Free continental breakfast on top of that.

You can rent a nice umbrella and a pair of chairs from Holiday Water Sports, located at the property - in front of the hotel. You can also rent jet ski's, go parasailing and do other sporty fun things, or you can just sit there like we did. You can walk up and down the beach for quite a ways.

We plan on returning for years to come.

We just returned from our 5 night stay at this hotel and can't wait to go back. When they say "ocean view" they mean it! It was very very clean. It was our first time at Ft. Myers Beach, therefore our first time at the Best Western but would go back tomorrow if we could. Everyone was kind and accomodating.

The 'love bugs' were there also but I guess it's just that time of year for them from what I understand. After a rain, they seemed to disappear which was great.

We went there to relax and that is what we did. We loved the fact that we could choose to lounge on the beautiful white sand beach under the umbrellas (which you can rent for the whole day or 1/2 day), or we could choose to stay on the nice green lawn and just sit under a shade tree if we wanted to. We were incredibly close to great seafood restaurants, but far enough away to enjoy the solitude.

The only complain we had is the A/C in the rooms. It would have been nice to have a quieter A/C system. They could also use a couple extra tables in the breakfast area since each day we had trouble finding a table, but none of this would keep us from returning. We enjoyed it thoroughly.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel 4 years ago before we were married and wanted to return to the area since it rained the whole time the last time we were there. It was nice to see they renovated! But we also found that a standard double room was way too small for having a 20 month old along who needed the crib bed so we ended up upgrading to a one bedroom suite. So if you are bringing kids, stay in a larger room.

This stretch of Fort Myers Beach, only a few blocks from times square, does not have a lot of luxurious hotels so the BW is one of the best in the area. It is clean, the grounds are well maintained and the staff is nice enough (not enthusastic, but nice). The beach is rather large, with soft, white sand. There is an umbrella and 2 chair rental availalble from a vendor for $23/day. HINT: After 1p.m. they only charge $11.

Now the ocean in the area was my biggest disappointment from someone who loves to dive into waves. It is shallow, not more than waist deep ever, really far out. You would get exhausted and be very far out to finally get into shoulder deep water. The later in the day it gets, the more water the beach loses. A sandbar appears about 20 feet out around 5 p.m. It is comforting if you have small kids, but really quite boring for adults. (The ocean is like this all up and down FMB so it's really not an attribute only to the BW.)

Again, BW is one of the best hotels in this part of FMB.

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 different occasions over the years. This was our first visit since the remodel. The rooms now offer up-to-date interiors (i.e., granite countertops, flat screen TV, neutral color against dark wood) and still all rooms have balconies and face the ocean. The hotel is walking distance to 'Times Square' (the little downtown area with restaurants and souvenir shops). The staff is kind and helpful. Their muse, Coco the Parrot (I think he's a parrot) is a nice little touch with the kids. As is the shuffleboard court.

The free breakfast is convenient and plentiful, they offers make-your-own-waffles, donuts, cereals, toast, bagels, fruit, juices. It's nice to have one less meal to worry about on a vacation. Free beach towels and a swingset for kids.

My only complaint is that there are SO many smokers. However, this seems to be the case in all of SW Florida, not just the hotel. Guests smoke at the pool with the provided ashtrays all around poolside. They smoke on their balconies despite it being a no-no. People smoke on the beach. People smoke at every restaurant. It's gross, especially when it's 90 degrees, but I'm a non-smoker so I find it disgusting in any temp. Unfortunately, FL does not have the smoking bans we do in IL so I can't really complain.

Overall, this is the perfect location, especially for the price. The pool is 'on the beach' whereas most hotels and condo complexes do not have pools. I would definitely stay there again - even with the amount of smokers.

We stayed at this Best Western Plus for 3 days. We loved this Hotel and we travel alot. It was very, very clean. The woman at the reception desk when checking in and out was very nice and accommodating. The rooms all face the ocean and have balconies and are a nice size with large bathrooms. They also offer a nice breakfast in the morning with a good amount of choices. The heated pool was a nice size and very clean. The beach was beautiful and clean and they have chairs and umbrellas that you can rent for the day for an additional fee. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to everyone. The only negative I could come up with is that there isn't a pool bar or snack bar in close proximity so while sitting by the pool or beach you cannot get refreshments, otherwise it was a great stay. There are plenty of nice restaurants close buy to choose from and a nice area for shopping.
