we were trying decide if we would stay at the Tiki on the Beach a small privately owed apartment hotel or a upscale major chain. we decided that with only a three day weekend trip to fort Myers beach we should stay right on the beach. And we were not sorry at all as they say location location, location and you could not find a better location in the quiet residential portion of the beach about half way between the commercialized town center on the north and the high rise condo area on the south. but it is only 2 blocks from the Publix grocery store for food, beverage and wine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. the other guests were also friendly and most were folks that come every year for a week or more. We wished w had scheduled a week rather than only three nights. The apartment hotel room came complete with a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen stocked with plates, glasses, pans and a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and toaster. the apartment also came with a large screened in porch to view the beach and sunsets. The room was clean and very comfortable. It is a homey place and not a modern new chain hotel but was a delightful stay and we will go back next year. The only downside was the living room had a musty smell probably from the humidity but it was not noticeable in the bedroom. The best thing is the beach right behind the hotel with a patio, lounge chairs, tiki tables and a million dollar view.
