“A true Oasis”
Reviewed July 15, 2009

My partner and I decided to take a spontanious overnite trip to the west coast (we live in Hollywood, Fl) and we are still baskin in the afterglow of this wonderful Oasis called Manatee Bay Inn. Connie was pleasant from the very first telephone conversation prior to our arrival. We had the back apartment on the property across the road and it was so much more than we expected. The place was spotless, smell good, and so well and tropically decorated that you wouldn't want to leave. The common areas were just as tropical and well cared for. Both pools were clean and heated and there is always smooth music playing. By all means a very warm, friendly, and tranquil place to get away from the every day routine. According to Connie an "extended" continental breakfast is included...but it only consist of sliced bread, banana, cereal, milk, coffee, and orange juice....not quite an extended continental breakfast...but for the price it was enough to hold me til checkout time. This will be the first of many more stays at the Manatee Bay Inn.

Fantastic, what more do you need to say, location, weather, rooms, pool, view. Connie and Axel have the world at the back door. First visited in 2008, returned in 2009 and book to go again in 2010 already. Book early or you will not get in, fish from the beach pier or Connies dock what more do you need. All you require is in easy walking distance or relax and take the beach bus from North to South.

Connie get those fishing pictures up and have my rod ready.

Already counting the weeks to May 2010.

My wife and I vacationed here for nine days in May following an exciting but arduous driving tour of the Deep South. This was our second visit to the Inn and it was the ideal way to chill out.

The apartments are spotless and typically Floridian and Connie goes out of her way to make your stay memorable. We loved the pool and enjoyed our regular evening barbeque under the stars.

The wonderful beach, which is only steps from the Inn, is ideal for sun bathing, swimmimg, and sunsets; whilst the pier is a magnet for fishermen and dophin watching.

My wife and I will be back in 2010.

We just spent 2 weeks at Manatee Bay Inn, Ft. Myers Beach, FL, this is one of many visits to this wonderfule B&B. Connie and Axel couldn't do a better job of making you feel like family coming home. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, walking distance to beach, restaurant and shops.

We stayed at the Manatee Bay Inn from Oct. 15 to the 20th, and it was one of my favorite places I've ever stayed at. Beds were firm, linens clean, view exceptional, convenient to everything, We had a couple next to us with a four year old, and we couldn't hear a thing through the walls, you wouldn't know anyone was next to us or above us. The breakfast was cereal and fruit, I would have liked a croissant, but at the price we paid, I am not complaining!
The staff was very helpful, and I certainly plan on staying at the Manatee Bay Inn my next visit to Ft. Myers Beach.

We've been visiting Florida since 1983 and this is definitely the best place we've stayed . A small, quiet ,six unit property only a block and a half from the beach and Times Square - so plenty of eating/drinking places within walking distance. Our daughter and her family also visited while we were there and both our apartments were spotlessly clean and comfortable. It's the perfect place for a really relaxing vacation - with two pools and a lovely view across "Manatee Bay" (we saw two). The owners - Connie and Axel, have really put a lot of love and effort into their little "Tropical Gem" and who (along with Anita) can't do enough for you to make sure you have a really pleasant stay. We had a lovely time and look forward to visiting again next year, but knowing our luck, word will have got around and they'll be fully booked all year.
PS Message for Connie - Don't forget the WiFi

I stayed here with my son and mother during a visit to FMB. Let me start by saying that this is a quaint, quiet, laid back place. Inn is only a block and a half from FMB's Time Square but feels detached and quiet enough to relax after the beach. The buidling sits on a lagoon with views of other Inn's and homes with their own docks, pelicans and other native birds hang-out in the trees surrounding. The "backyard" of your rooms consits of 2 pools, 1 heated and 1 unheated, a patio table with a grass hut roof- perfect for outdoor dining, a gas grill thats available for everyone to use and beautiful tropical greeneries... The owners had also built a pier for sunbathing and just sitting and staring out to the lagoon.... Its a great place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. The rooms also come with a continental breakfast of OJ, Coffee, Teas, breads, fruits. There are 6 units..all except one are 1 bedroom units- with one or 2 full size beds and a sofa bed in the living/kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with a 2 burner stove, sink, microwave a full size fridge and all your basic cooking and dining utensil needs. The Living room also has cable TV. I suggest you ask for one of the 2nd floor rooms... the lving area faces the lagoon..great view as it overlooks the pool areas and the water... the balconies have lounge chairs perfect for moring coffee or a glass of wine. The rooms are kept perfectly clean by Anita- she is a great resource of information rgearding FMB..from restaurants to the time dolphins and manatees may show up in the lagoon... This is not a huge inn but a small enough place where you will get an at home feeling and service. Anita, Connie and her husband has a great place here and we cant wait to return and enjoy another vacation.

  • Liked — The location and the building
  • Disliked — shared balcony
