Matanzas Inn was overall a fairly decent experience with more ups than downs, except that all comes with a few significant caveats. Nothing approaches the level of memorable though the soup/stew was decent enough. We had a solid discount coupon that colors this review a bit generously, though with an enthusiasm bordering on the tepid.
It just seems a pronounced problem in Florida that typical restaurants have uninspired cooks and management, rubber stamp menus with seafood that ironically suggests it's been flown in frozen from somewhere fairly far off and sends a similar vibe for other fare. Matanzas Inn does little to escape that propensity.
