“It's a must!!”
Review of Fish-Tale Marina

Fish-Tale Marina
Reviewed May 14, 2013

My husband and I have been visiting the area for over 20 years and have added the dolphin tour as a must do! Capt Randy was very informative and as always, it was totally successful by way of dolphin sitings, and relaxation! Silly as it sounds, we do the trip a couple of times. It's a great way to get out on the water at an inexpensive price!!

We went on the Fish Tale Marina Dolphin Tour and what a great day! Randy, our Captain and guide was very informative and had an amazing knowledge of the habits of dolphins and other wildlife. He took us out into the inland waters of Estero Bay and within minutes he was pointing out pods of dolphins! We also saw some Manatee and Osprey and Captain Randy allowed ample time for photographs. It was a relaxed and fun tour and to finish it off before heading back, he increased the speed of the boat to create a wake and the dolphins following in the wake actually looked like they were surfing! Bottled water was provided, but it is recommended that you bring suncreen and wear a hat. Randy made sure we kept cool by speeding up the boat when he thought it was getting a bit too warm for the passengers. The 1-1/2 hour tour was $23 well spent and we would highly recommend both Captain Randy and the tour.

We have taken the Eco cruise from the Fish Tale Marina a couple of times. It is a great experience. The marina is beautifully maintained and offers a pretty setting while you wait for the cruise. The people are great, friendly and competent. Our captain, Bob, was knowledgeable and very cordial. He took time to find dolphins and manatees and gave everyone ample opportunity to see them and get pictures. The whole experience was first class... much nicer than some huge tourist trap boat. It is well worth finding the marina behind the Santini Plaza. Everything was sparkling clean, on time and comfortable. But, the best feature is the staff...they were all great. Highly recommended!

Capt. Greg Smith along with his son (First Mate) showed me what experience and knowledge of fishing is all about. The boat and the fishing gear was in excellent condition. 20 miles out we stopped to catch bait fish with Sabiki rigs. 30 miles out we caught our limit of 45 lb. Amberjack. AJ's are some of the most powerful fish you will ever feel pull on a rod. 50 miles out we caught Red Grouper in 90+ feet of water. It was amazing how he put us on the fish! The cleaning station had 350 lb. of fish on it from our 10 hour trip (6 anglers). I went home with an estimated $300.00 worth of fish steaks for my share ($200.00) of the daily shared charter cost ($1,200.00). I highly recommend Capt. Greg Smith if you want to experience Gulf water fishing at the highest professional level. Gary Casper, Lake St. Louis, MO. & Ft Myers Beach resident

I took my college-age daughter and her friend on a dolphin tour with Captain Randy. It took awhile to find the dolphins in Estero Bay but once we did the fun began. We had dolphins swimming alongside our boat as well as surfing in the wake behind us. We even saw 2 manatees floating along. It was a great afternoon adventure!!
