Gosh! food so good that we ate 2 meals here in 2 days- a really nice lunch and a wonderful dinner. This was hosted in a quiet little place on an idyllic beach- the best food in Ft Myers! The owner, Chuck, greeted each patron as though they were long lost friends- by the end of the meal that is the way they felt. His manager, also Chuck, kept the bar and dining room running with a continual banter that made us feel as though we were at a good neighbor's home. Food was tasty, well prepared, and just such a respite from the average beach fare. It was such a pleasure to eat and visit, and I look forward to many more returns.

We are seasonal residents of FMB, and tried Chuck's during our stay last winter. The place had just opened, and the atmosphere was not terrific (facing the Estero Blvd traffic jam in season), but the food was good. So, when we were in town for a couple of weeks getting our place ready for the season, we decided to try again. Chuck's is still here (not an insubstantial accomplishment for new restaurants in the area, many of which tend to disappear in the lean summer months) and the food is still worth the visit. Plus, there is a nice parking lot now, and the promise of outside seating and a full bar (currently only beer and wine are available), a welcome change.

I had the filet, which was nicely done and seasoned, a real deal at $19. My wife had the fish--a covina, cooked to perfection (why do so many places purporting to be fish restaurants consistently overcook?) and marinated lightly in a ranch/jalapeno combination which gave it just a touch of zip. Wonderful. And, the mini-desserts are tasty and just the right size. We polished it off with a bottle of red wine, the tab coming to $58 before tip. What a deal.

Chuck's has successfully crafted a nice menu priced below those charged by the "upper end" restaurants on the island, and the food is not that much more expensive than the beach fare, but soooo much better. This place has the highest "bang for the buck" on the island. We will be back.

The food is quite good but the place has no atmosphere whatsoever. The wait staff is basically good but the campy shrieking of the staff gets tiring after a while. A little more wait staff professionalism and some work prettying up the inside would make this really good. It's not there yet.

My wife and I had dinner at Chucks while visiting Fort Meyers beach. The volcano rolls were excellent. The service was great and the staff was very personable and attentive. Our entrees were both very good. I would go back the next time were in town.

I had dinner there and had the Volcano Rolls which were quite good and the Ahi Tuna Salad. The mango that came with the salad was canned not fresh, and personally, Florida Avocado is not as flavorful as Haas Avocados. The Sauce with the volcano rolls was great but the sauce on the salad was nothing special. The wait staff was good and atmosphere was okay. I liked the photographs on the wall and it does look like the place is expanding. I will try again before I leave to get a better feel for the food.
