Wow! The location is excellent. The Sandpiper has a family pool and an adult pool right on the beautiful beach. Watersports and shuffleboard are available. I stayed in a 2nd floor unit poolside which had a view of the beach and sunset(229). The unit has a kitchenette where I made breakfast and lunch everyday. Publix (supermarket) is 1/2 mile away. The bathtoom was totally re-done and is beutiful; there is a tub. Nice flat screen tv and internet access. The staff is friendly and helpful. Feels like a family-like atmosphere.

Quieter area than north of Sandpiper; great view of the Gulf and you can't beat the few steps access to the beach. I look forward to, though, having the air conditioning system updated some day so it isn't so noisy........just me.

Room Tip: go for the beachfront rooms, if you can....well worth it being able to relax on the balcony at the e...

We had two of our grandchildren with us, and they had a wonderful time. We were on ground level right at the family pool, and they could swim while we watched them from our own lanai. Very convenient and relaxing.

The first time we stayed at the Sandpiper my husband and I could not believe how big these rooms were. When our group booked the rooms it was such a lovely surprise to have a beach front balcony room! We thought this was dream come true! The room was very clean and the kitchen counters even had granite. Our quarters had all the things we left at home; stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, and coffee pot. The convenience of having all those things made us feel as though we didn't have to pack the house and take it with us like a camping trip, yet we were on vacation. We could swim, eat, drink, nap, walk the beach, and retire when ever we wanted not on a schedule like at home. Our children appreciated the cable TV because we don't even have dish or cable at home. OMG, internet service on the beach!! Say no more!! We will be back!! Thank you Sandpiper for giving us a wonderful stress free vacation.

Room Tip: The beach front rooms are great if you want to see everything the calming waters of the Gulf will ma...

This was our third stay at Sandpiper Gulf Resort. I was a bit reluctant to write a good review because I want to keep this gem hidden! However, I have to give credit when credit is due. If you want to stay on Fort Myers Beach, but want some quiet time, this is the place. It is a few miles down from the busy “Times Square” area. If you are staying for a few days, be sure to shop at Publix to stock up your fridge and cabinets, then sit back and enjoy the beach or pool. After a day in the sun, you can freshen up in your clean room. I am looking forward to my forth stay !

You can also get access to the Pink Shell at the other end of the island. We did this on our last day.

We stayed at the Sandpiper after a 3 day business conference at LaPlaya resort in Naples . Our room at the Sandpiper was much cleaner. Our in room refrigerator was spotless at the Sandpiper - the same could not be said for LaPlaya resort. Sandpiper was a great value- a third of what we paid at LaPlaya resort. The location of the Sandpiper was perfect - away from the congested Times Square area that we tried to visit, but could find no parking space. We will definitely recommend the Sandpiper.

Upon our arrival we were a little skeptical about this resort, I will admit however, to our surprise this turned out to be one of our favorite resorts in the Ft. Myers area. We have stayed at Pink Shell (hated it, yes, I know they are affiliated with them), Sanibel Harbour and Resort and at the The Westin Cape Coral Resort At Marina Village. While a lack of amenities was one lacking point, the benefits over weighed that tiny flaw. The resort is quaint yet so family oriented. The BEACH FRONT rooms are a must. The views are SPECTACULAR. I mean, breathtaking! Every morning we would wake up to dolphins swimming by, the evenings we would spend strolling the shore for some of the most unique shells and creatures. Staff was great, housekeeping lacked seriously though. Our rooms weren't cleaned until about 3pm and some of those days we needed to call just to get them there. Another factor that's not huge to us. All and all, when we return to Ft. Myers or the Sanibel area, you can bet your bottoms that's where were staying.

Oh and as for the Midisland sports rentals that are on the beach for your pleasure, we had the luxury of meeting some of the guys running that "gig" and they were AWESOME. So kind and informative. We did the jet ski rentals for an hour and I must say, that was the most memorable moment in our vaca. 8 thumbs up (considering their are 4 of us in our party)!!!! Even if your staying elsewhere, please consider visiting them. They were just awesome!!!

Room Tip: Beach FRONT not beach VIEW rooms are a MUST!!!!!
