The Lighthouse Resort Inn and Suites
Ranked #19 of 47 Hotels in Fort Myers Beach
Reviewed October 25, 2013

We had such a blast at the Lighthouse Island Resort this year! The had a large, spacious suite overlooking the waterfall secluded pool. Floors were hardwood & tile. We held a party at the main pool area and the Tiki Bar. The Entertainment was great, the service was great, and the had a blast the next day at the tailgating football party. The place was filled with friendly people, both employees and guests.

Love the set-up of this place! Key West style. Pools were small but there were 2. Tiki Bar was nice. Good food and service.
Rooms left a lot to be desired. We had a total of 3 rooms and had issues with each one. We had AC units in the windows. Living area was freezing cold. Bedroom was warm and humid. All 3 of my kids woke up with breathing problems from the humidity. Fridge was like a freezer. Froze everything we had and could not change the setting. Kitchen was understocked.
Great location. If you go, ask if they have a refurbished room.

Room Tip: Ask if they have any refurbished units.

we spent 10 nights at the lighthouse inn during September-October. we returned because the property and grounds are nice, the waterfall pool is a great feature and the staff work very hard at their jobs! our room consisted of a king bed, small fridge, dressers, and nice bathroom. Our room was clean and comfortable and in a very private quiet end of the building.
we heard a bit of music in the evenings and weekend, but for us this was not a problem, and during the weekends a birthday party was hosted near the waterfall pool, but we were happy to see people enjoying their event. All the staff at the lighthouse inn work hard and seem to like their jobs....the property is very close to all amenities in the FMB area and the price for our room was reasonable. we will return again...we have stayed at hotels with no bar or restaurant and it begins to feel a bit deserted, the lighthouse has everything you need on site!

The shower was full of mildew, the bedspread smelled like urine and the hairdryer didn't work. And the rest of the place was shabby to say the least. The Tiki Bar area was nice enough but that didn't make up for the nasty condition of the room. Never again...

Read all the 4 and 5 star reviews and not sure where their rooms were, but mine smelled musty and damp (room 305). I requested a room away from the Tiki bar because I was warned of the noise, but the group of 15 or so that were in the pool from 12:30 to 2:00 a.m. were allowed to be there even though it said the pool closed at dusk. When asked, the receptionist said the pool was open 24 hours. Didn't want to walk barefoot in the room because the floor and carpeting felt dirty. I asked to be moved to another room right after I checked in and was instantly told there were no other rooms. I moved to another hotel as soon as I could.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room as soon as you get there.

Beautiful grounds and pool. Covered parking. Our room was fairly clean but not well maintained. Outdated and downright old furnishings and carpet needed replaced. Clean bathrooms, beds, appliances and very basic kitchen ware. There is a Tiki bar on site and apparently It's very popular with the locals. VERY LOUD music and party atmosphere from both the bar and pool areas well into the early hours of morning. Perfect for spring break or for someone wanting to party but not for someone wanting a quiet getaway. Check room location when booking as some are more quiet than others.

We checked in Sat. 9/28/13 checked out the following Monday. A two night stay. Room 156. Nice place, not perfect but it's the beach. Comfy bed, love the Tiki bar, which they had a great football Sunday, serving food from the grill, at inexpencive prices. We didn't get the room we booked, we were upgraded, not sure why. The kitchen sink clogged up, sort of nasty. But they fixed it. Pools are relaxing. Room was good. I think $95.00 a night. We are sort of local, an hour away, and I have to say we have stayed at almost all the places from small motels to the big resorts. The lighthouse is a gem. We have stayed here several time over the years, some rooms better then others. Times you get a lazy housekeeper, our last was ok. Some parts as sofa and chair could be updated. But Ft Myers is a very laid back area. Flipflop kind of place. You don't need your dancing shoes! Barefooting is more like it. I would recommend Lighthouse. Laundry, $2.00 a load, about that to dry. Parking is tight, but never had an issue, it's Florida, not the big city. You don't want to drive your monster trucks! :) Tiki hut a blast, pools clean and nice atmosphere, good customer service...but not 5 star, just a good place to relax...good location too.

Room Tip: Try to pay for a bedroom if your staying longer then a weekend. Ne'er the backside pool.
