“reliable Hampton quality and good staff”
Reviewed September 3, 2011

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel visiting family in fort Myers. Although it is a little hard to find (in a shopping center) it offers good value and the suites are spacious and clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good with a lot of vatriety and I love the fresh grapefruit and orange sections. The Hampton coffee could be better though. The cookies are great and a nice touch. This hotel is very convenietn for visiting Fort Myers Beach, only minutes away and a lot less expensive than staying on Fort Myers Beach.

Rooms were clean and very nice. Beds were very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was great. Located close enough to stores, highways, restaurants, but not necessarily in a busy area. Would stay there again. Felt very safe there and walked around at all times of day and night. Only problem we had was that the connecting room beside ours had people smoking although we were on a non-smoking floor. The desk clerk tried to handle it but was not successful. We ended up stuffing the space between the two connecting doors with towels to block the smell. Once the manager came on duty the next day, it was no longer an issue.
Recommend the Sandy Butler for take out gourmet food if you are looking for something special yet economical. Great variety and prices.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn for one night this past weekend and had a great time. The room was very clean and the hotel staff was very nice. We heard no noise from our room and slept very soundly, the beds were really comfortable. Kids swam in the pool and while on the small side it was nice and clean as well.

The free breakfast was very good, we really enjoyed the make your own waffles. They have a small work out room and there was also a TV in there which was a nice touch.

Location was very convenient to Sanibel Island.

We booked our room through Priceline and considered it an excellent value for what we paid. But at the rack rate I'd consider it an OK value.

Downside- I wanted to dry our towels but they wanted 3.00 to use the dryer which I thought was crazy overpriced.

If we ever return to the Sanibel area again, we would definitely consider this hotel again.

Made last minute reservations here on www.priceline.com. My central a/c had to be replaced in my home and this hotel was in a very convenient location. It's on the main drag, Summerlin Road and is near everything. I snagged this hotel for $45@ night on Priceline and it was great value for the money. Room was immaculate, comfortable and had HBO. Nice desk for your laptop in the room and bathrooms appeared to have been upgraded with new granite vanities. Even a PC in the lobby. Nice resort like pool, lots of free parking. Hot breakfast in the AM with varied choices. Beds had cotton duvets which are my favorite. No fridge in the room but not a problem. Rugs in the breakfast area were stained and soiled. Management needs to replace this with tile or wood flooring in order to clean properly every day. Not a good idea to have carpets in a heavily used breakfast area. Nice staff. I would stay here again. Very convenient location for tourists and locals like me. P.S. Could not get WiFi online in the room. That was inconvenient!

Room Tip: Use www.priceline.com or expedia.com

Stayed here for a friends wedding that was in Captiva. Rates at ALL hotels on the island were outrageous w/3 or 4 night minimums so a bunch of us decided to stay here and save money. This hotel was hands down a great option. Nice hot breakfast every day, clean rooms & right on the main road that takes you to Captiva!

We had a suite that had a kitchenette & couches/pull out bed, which was wonderful as we had about 5 of us in the room :0 Bathroom was a tad small but that was only b/c we have 4 girls & one guy sharing! Kitchenette was wonderful to store extra food/drinks in there.

During the breakfast you could tell there were tons of people staying in the hotel but it was not noisy reflecting how many people were in there. Lovely outdoor pool area, had a resort feel.

Front desk was so nice & helpful w/recommending a airport shuttle & helping us the day we left! I decided to stay on the island the night of the wedding w/another friend and our other friends we roomed w/drove back as they were flying back the following morning. Our friends packed up all of stuff and left our luggage at the front desk. We were dropped off later the next day at the hotel by our other friends and retrieved our luggage and they also confirmed the shuttle was already here.

Thanks again for the great stay Hampton Inn!!

We stopped for 6 nights in mid April and took a King suite with kitchen and sofabed for our 13 yr old son. The room was great and the Air conditioning units were digital and both newer & quieter than all others we saw during our 3 weeks touring Florida. The water pressure wasn't great - but it wasn't much of a problem. The breakfasts were good (although we never tried the US-style hot bacon/eggs). Our only (small) issues were (1) our son's sofa bed mattress-wires were easily felt thru the middle and so he didn't sleep well the first night - but they padded it out with blankets when we mentioned the problem the next day (2) the kitchenette had only one spoon, one knife and one wine glass...we mentioned it and nothing changed. It wasn't that we needed anything...we just weren't sure if things were missing? and didn't want the blame! Nonetheless overall we really enjoyed our stay and the whole place had a nice relaxed feel to it. The staff on the desk were very friendly, the pool was a nice temperature, the area was free from traffic noise and handy for Sanibel... I'd say about 3-4 miles to the toll gate causeway entrance. If we could get a similar rate we would definately go here again.

Room Tip: Not too far from Pinchers Crab shack on San Carlo.

I have never experienced a problem with bed bugs until I stayed at this resort. I have at least 15 itchy bites on my body. I'm terribly afraid that these things could infest my house.

All reports of pests and bugs are taken very seriously here at the property. We have not had any reports of bed bugs for over the last 90 days and do have pest control to the property regularly. All rooms are fully inspected for pests including bed bugs before the rooms is cleaned and put back into inventory. Would like to speak to this guest further regarding this review. Thank you.
