My mother and I decided to do this at the last minute, as we noticed it on our first day at Fort Myers Beach when we were coming out of Nervous Nellies after lunch and it looked like fun. The boat has upper seating on plastic chairs and the full bar with a very friendly bar tender. The seating downstairs is at tables and is enclosed. There is no drink service downstairs. After a brief tour of the Bay where we saw a few dolphins and learned about the shrimping fleet and some history of the area, we headed towards Sanibel Island and the lighthouse and watched a lovely sunset where there was plenty of time for pictures, and the captain made sure that all sides of the boat got a chance to enjoy the views. They also stopped to pull up one of their stone crab traps (apparently they only do that once a week, so that was interesting). After that, they cranked up the party music (think Electric Slide, Macarena, etc) and cruised around between Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach for about 30 minutes or so. Unfortunately, since we decided to take this trip on a spur of the moment, we really weren't properly dressed for the much cooler evening air temps, so we stayed downstairs the better part of the trip. If you're not into dancing and drinking (it was not a rowdy "booz cruise" crowd-everyone on the upper deck was just having a lot of fun) the ride back seems a bit long. About half of the passengers were down in the lower deck looking like they were all ready to get home.

Overall, it was a nice way to start our mini vacation, but make sure that you're dressed for the cooler evening weather and be prepared to either dance/party or be somewhat bored as there isn't anything to see once the sun sets.

We can't thank the staff and crew enough for our fabulous sunset cruise experience. We were lost, stuck in traffic and thought for sure we were going to miss the boat. We called and they were very helpful and made sure we got there and on the boat. The crew was great and very friendly and fun. The sunset was gorgeous and the dancing was a blast.

They need to handle their bookings better. My expectations were minimal but they couldn't meet them due to lack of attention to prior bookings. Overall their food was excellent and service quality depended on what attendant was at hand at the time (I had mixed experience). If they would have paid attention to their private booking I would mostly likely have given them an overall five. There wasn't anything to see other then the occasional dolphin and then of course the gorgeous sunset.

We have been on the dolphin cruise twice now. Once with my 35 year old son who enjoyed seeing the dolphins and loved seeing Fort Myers beach area and Sanibel from the water. The second time we took our 6 year old and 8 year old grandsons. We wondered about going because it was a chillier and windy day. The cruise was fantastic. The ship did not rock or sway. The 8 year old was worried about sea sickness but he felt fine because the ship is so stable.
They particularly enjoyed spotting dolphins and looking at the crab traps that the first mate hauled up from the seabed. Also the captain is very informative. All in all a great couple of hours.
