Being from Wisconsin we expect that when an establishment calls its self a brewery , it would actually brew beer. Not here. Nothing more then an open air hamburger stand.

We only stopped in here for a drink, but it was a fun place. The bar tenders were great and the decor was fun. Bar was under roof, but with open walls so you got the outside fresh air without the sunburn.

Food was average, somewhat overpriced. Veges were steamed, nothing creative there. Drinks were weak. Loud and fun if you're in a crowd but not so much if you're on your own. I was there on Cinco de Mayo and the staff seemed overworked and not overly friendly. Maybe just a too-busy day but I wouldn't rush back. Didn't appear to be very clean, either.

Oysters, open air bar, beer, what more can I say. People might miss this because it's not on the sand. That would be a shame though. This is a Fort Myers Beach staple. The wait staff is a little rough around the edges, but what would you expect from a "hole in the wall" feeling bar. Good place for appetizers & snacks. I think they're working on service though from my last visit, since it was much improved. This is a great place to leave your man for "a few" while you go across the street and shop this strip.

I love that S.O.B. hot sauce. I'm thinking of trying to get a case shipped. My chili seems lacking without it. It's a nice accompaniment to oysters too.

Casual atmosphere, great food, where the locals go... If you want to always get a great
meal and a cold beer you can't miss by hitting the S.O.B. Mesquite grilled grouper, tuna steaks, tilapia, carribean shrimp and the best smoked fish dip on the island can all be
found at the Smokin' Oyster Brewery. Oh and ya gotta try the crab in garlic sauce! Grab your mallet, crack away and experience a taste sensation you won't soon forget. A definite must if you're visting Fort Myers Beach - hit the S.O.B for fun and food.
