We enjoyed our lunch at Docs. We were staying on Sanibel Island for a few days and saw Doc there but we were looking for water front dining, which is hard on Sanibel. On our way out we thought we'd check out the waterfront dining on Ft Meyers and where happy with Docs.

Even though it was hot outside their seating area was shaded and breezy. We enjoyef pur food and it was reasonable priced.

I would recommend trying them out.

We wanted to dine on the water and saw the restaurant while driving over the bridge to Ft. Myers Beach. We walked in on a Saturday night around 6pm w/o reservations and we seated immediately. I imagine during season you won't have this luxury. The service was prompt and the server very knowledgeable. He knew the ingredients of every dish we ordered, a rarity it seems these days. The atmosphere is very good as is the location. For appetizers we ordered the mussels, crab cakes and calamari. The sauce for the mussels was to die for. We had to request extra bread for dipping! For the main course we had the banana leaf wrapped snapper, the yellow tail (Special), grouper and mahi mahi. All of the fish was fresh and I would venture to say they were swimming that morning. The grouper was a bit to spicy but it did not spoil the meal. All in all we were very pleased and look forward to our return trip to FMB and another visit to Doc Fords!

We love coming to Ft Meyers beach ... it is a great place to relax enjoy the Gulf and of course go out to eat. Lunches typically are good at the SOB and then dinner at Doc Fords.

The daily specials are very excellent but you cannot go bad by staying with other regular menu items. The initial attraction was the live music but then the food took over.

This year we were really impressed with our waiter ... he had a good sense of humor and guided us through the menu with ease. We were really impressed by how highly he spoke about his employer and how they tend to look after their employees ... something to be learned by others.

First time but hopefully not the last. We enjoyed the menu selections, the food was great, the waiter seemed to anticipate what we needed or was going to need. Very attentive. It was a bit loud but the is related to the open concept.

We went to Doc's for a late lunch and were very pleased with the food and service. I ordered the ribs and they were the best I ever had. When you touched the meat with the fork, the meat fell off the bone. The sauce was very good also. My wife had the penne pasta with rock shrimp and thought that was great as well.
We will be going back to Doc' if we ever get back to Fort Myers again.
