“Thanks for making our wedding great!”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

This April (2013) we were lucky enough to hold both our wedding ceremony and reception at Doc Ford's Rum Bar. Throughout the planning, set-up and finally the big day the staff was responsive to our questions and needs. The ceremony was beautiful at sunset. Everyone of our guests raved about the food (go for the prime rib) and the drinks were delicious (and strong).

Great for dinner and for big events.

Thank you Doc Ford's!

“Great meal and fun spot - walked from Casa Playa”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

We walked here from Casa Playa for dinner our first night and were not disappointed. We started with some raw oysters and then each had the special - delicious. We were seated quickly, the service was great. It was nice to sit outside. Our meal was great and it helped that we had the walk back as we were stuffed. Would definitely go back.

“Average at best”
Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

Mid-afternoon meal and the food was good however our waitress lacked personality. She didn't engage and seemed annoyed by us. We couldn't taste rum in our beverages and she said they make really strong drinks but you do not taste it because they use the best rum. Haha, can't fool Wisconsinites - we know strong drinks and they definitely weren't.
I cannot deny - it is a great location but we won't be back.

Thank you for your response. I am sorry that you had a less than expected experience dining at our restaurant. We strive to be a quality restaurant with a professional staff. What you described is far less than par for us. Our internationally known rum bar delivers, on a daily basis, fine tropical beverages. We are focused on quality guest service that surpasses expectation. I will personally heed your response and focus on preventing anything less than excellent guest satisfaction. Thank you again for your feedback.

“Best Dinner!”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

I had a special of scallops with black linguine and crab meat that was out of this world. Only drawback was that we ordered raw oysters as an appetizer that did not come out until after main course. Staff and manager were very apologetic. Offered us each desserts, but we could only manage one slice of delicious key lime pie. Sat outside. Great atmosphere. Tricky to get to from the island -- check directions first!
