“Lovers Key is bigger than we thought”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

We went to Lover's Key to do some geocaching and weren't planning on spending the day just taking a look around. This is a nice park, and the beach sand was great - but there was a boat that was dredging on one of the beaches which wasn't a very nice site. There seems to be a few entrances, 2 you pay based on merit system and the third which seems to be the main park entrance there is an attendant collecting the entrance fee (8 dollars per car).

We didn't end up spending a lot of time there as it was too hot but we got to see enough to know that we would come back again.

“Off the path beach”

Really clean and fun little beach. Lovers Key is a must see, and if you are in the area, find the state park beach. Soft sand, clean water, and pretty sights!

“We love Lovers Key!”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

Have been to this state park and the beaches multiple times. The beach is nice and the kayak tour we took was fantastic! Got to see multiple manatees playing within feet of our kayaks. Our daughter, her friend and my wife and I will always remember the big, graceful creatures seen up-close.

“Nice park, HORRIBLE RESTROOMS BAD ODOR”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

Admission fee was $8 per car[family of 4],first in first serve the shade parking.
gift shop was good, lot of stuff, normal prices, souveniers, ice cream, refreshments, etc.
can rent kayaks, bicycles or can walk or use the free tram to the beach.
We use the tram, every short period of time arrives and the trip is no more than five minutes, smooth and easy.
when arrived at the beach there is a beach bar, for sodas, water ice cream, near that showers, and bathrooms[very clean], and a tram waiting area [covered].
the sand is basically shells, excellent for shelling but hard to walk.
water was nice and warm. very shallow beach.
Can spot stingrays, little shark, dolphins, star fish, and other variety of sea creatures.
wide open beach, not crowded.
if like fishing, multiple good spots.
when tired of swimming, just take a shower change clothes at the restroom [in the beach] and wait for tram.[working until 4:45] so get early.
arriving back to the entrance, we tried to use the restrooms, located near the gift shop:BIG MISTAKE. THE MALE RESTROOM WAS GROSS,UNACCEPTABLE!!!, BEYOND DIRTINESS!!!
how a little thing like to clean a bathroom makes to change the opinion on a nice trip!!!
Park is nice, rangers at entrance very helpful, gift shop guy very good, beach nice, BUT RESTROOMS AT THE GIFT SHOP AREA SMELLS BAD [URINE AND FECES] SHOULD BE CLOSED UNTIL GET CLEAN OR FIXED.

“A nice place for a romantic getaway or a family vacation”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

We really enjoyed the beach, the staff was very personable and helpful.

My only regrets would be we stumbled upon the park the last day of our trip, and the park closed within 1 1/2 of our arrival.
