We really enjoyed this place -- situated right on the beach. Sparkling clean pool and live music in the afternoons. Beach is gorgeous with fine white sand and lots of water birds and shells at low tide.
Quite busy so book ahead. We showed up unannounced in mid - November on a Sunday and were lucky enough to get a room quite close to the beach (room 328, I think). Nice view when sitting out on the walkway (not a private balcony, but that's Ok, it works the same). The staff here are very pleasant.
They don't supply glasses in the room -- just plastic coffee mugs -- maybe to avoid getting any glassware near the pool. So, if you like to sip your single malt out of a glass, bring your own .

Love this place for many years, been coming here to relax for so long! Always loved staying in beach front 1st floor rooms, Just loved walking out right on to the beach! The Staff, Everyone always friendly and helpful,! We as family, even rented 2 to 3 rooms at a time! And loved it!!
But Now they have Implemented a new rule change that will possibly forever keep us from coming back! You have to stay 4 or more days to stay in the rooms we always stayed in!!
So this year because of your stupid new rule, We stayed just down the way in a newer Resort! And the Staff went out of their way to make our stay a fabulous one!
Our parents started staying at your Resort, many years ago, for not staying there now? well guess something just need to come to a end. Keep your rule

Room Tip: If wanting to stay righ on the beach, If staying for shorter than 4 days , either another resort, or...

This was our 7th visit to the Outrigger, every year in November, and it continues to be the best value in FMB. Absolutely the finest stretch of beach in the area! The employees of the Outrigger are fantastic. Friendly and helpful in anything that you require. The rooms are spacious and the deck and tiki bar are great. There is no better place around to watch a sunset. Everything is very central to the hotel, with restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters and a 7-11 just across the street. It is located toward the south end of the island which is much quieter and extremely relaxing. There is nightly entertainment at the tiki bar, but it finishes at 9 o'clock.
Can't wait to get back!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the deck and tiki bar, or beachfront.

We spent 4 nights at the Outrigger. There are 2 types of rooms. Basic hotel room and efficiencies with a stove. We had the basic room.

Outrigger is in the process of remodeling the rooms. I would advise to request a remodeled room.

The grounds and tiki bar are spectacular. There are loungers in the pool area and shaded loungers on a deck by the tiki bar. This was nice for my husband as he can't be in the sun much.

Great restaurant across the street and a plaza about 1/2 mile away with several restaurants. This is a very nice place to visit. We will be back!

Easy checking in, once checked in parking is plentiful.
Rooms are spacious and clean and wifi is free in the room as it is in all areas of the resort.
Fridge, coffee machine, plenty of room are all a plus for the rooms.
Tiki bar is spacious with it's own sun loungers in the area, this is literally on the beach edge so the setting is stunning.
Very quiet at this time of year, but that's a plus for myself! The town is a good three to four miles away but there is a cheap trolley bus service that runs until about 9.30pm but there are also taxis should you wish to stay a tad later.
On the other hand there are a couple of bars as you come out of the resort to your right and maybe a five minute walk away that serve good food and drink and are friendly even though quite local based.
All in all a nice resort, clean rooms, lovely area.

My boyfriend and I made our first visit to The Outrigger in October. We had the most pleasant and relaxing vacation we have ever been on. We had a garden efficiency, which felt private without being isolated. Loved the Tiki Bar and sunset ceremony each evening and the live music! The resort was so clean. Bed was comfy, shower was great and everything was so clean! Friendliest staff ever! So many amenities at the resort. You don't need to leave, but the Island Trolley is such a great bonus. We didn't even need to rent a car! We will definitely be returning!

Amazing resort. Spent 5 nights here. We had a beachfront efficiency that was very clean, spacious, and quiet, with an amazing view. Every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful. Tim at the Guest Services area was terrific with all of his tips about the resort and places in the area, and always willing to help with a smile. The Deckside Grille had great, affordable food and Tiki Bar was great fun. Everything was so convenient and well thought out - even down to having a place that can be reserved to freshen up after checkout. We had friends staying in 3 different areas of this hotel and all were pleased with their rooms. Can't say enough about what a great time we had. We will absolutely stay here on our next trip to Fort Myers!
