this resort was great for the price. They even made us aware of a special going on and refunded us money after we had paid already. Cute little place with lots of charm, great beach. Definitely worth looking into.

The staff in the office was awesome. Very friendly very helpful, just great. The hotel is also great. Nice clean rooms, smoking tables and chairs outside each room. Love the live bands in the evening. Pool very nice and clean. On site restaurant had great food just a bit pricey. This is our 2nd year staying that this hotel and we will go back another........

Room Tip: View or no view great hotel

This is a wonderful vintage resort on Fort Myers Beach. Our room overlooked the Gulf, the Tiki Bar and the pool. We had an apartment sized kitchen with a dining area for four and a living area with flat screen T.V., but rarely watched because of the amazing view of the gulf. The King-sized bed was very comfortable and if you need a pull out for a small child, the sofa makes a double bed. The bathroom has been updated and has a small closet with a key-locked safe to secure valuables. The housekeeping staff is very attentive and will quickly clean your room if they realize that you've vacated for the day. We had one maintenance issue and they were there within minutes to address our problem. The only drawback to this room is that the elevator stops on the third floor, so if you have a lot of luggage or small children and want a gulf view, opt for the third floor. This resort is good value for the money. It has live entertainment, wide beaches, guest laundry and is across the street from a 7-11 convenience store and down the street from a Publix market if you need things. There is a restaurant on the main level that serves a breakfast buffet as well as beach priced lunches and dinners - for Coke lovers, they only stock Pepsi!! There is a great deck and the staff will bring your meal so that you can enjoy it alfresco! Towels are available at guest services for sunning at the beach and pool and cabanas are available for daily rent (if it is not raining!) A trolley services the beach, but make sure to have EXACT change or get a day pass. The price is reasonable! There are several fun restaurants on the beach for evening dining and a theater (movies) not far from the resort.

Room Tip: Room 301 or room 401 both face the gulf and overlook the Tiki Bar and pool.

I stayed in a room that overlooked the pool, tiki hut and had a view of the gulf. The rooms were clean and the maid service good. This is a great resort. It is not new but well taken care of. If I had anything to complain about it would be the loudmouth 50 year olds in the pool who we're trying to see how drunk they could get. Very friendly staff.

Room 164 right by the pool and steps to the sand. Sep 7-11. Two adults and a two year old. Room has a kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave and two small beds. Beds aren't the most ideal with a child. Or for a couple for that matter but we got by. Spacious enough room though. Property is kept clean through the day by grounds crew.

The Tiki Bar located on property by the pool is nice with music 5-8 during the week and 2-5 on weekends. A little more reggae or type of music would have been nice but it was fun still for sure and the musicians were nice and entertaining. Phil, Jim & Patty at the Tiki were super friendly and did a great job even when they got a little busy. Hi Guys! Thanks for a good time. Only downside which I don't understand is whoever is doing the ordering needs to get some Captain Morgan in for goodness sake! You have a Captain sign up at your bar and no Captain?? So, F&B Don't penny pinch on items guests ask for please.

There's a little bit of a walk to get to the water but its not that far. The water is warm and inviting. You can rent a cabana but bringing your own chair you can sit at waters edge. Grab a few towels from the nice people running the guest services shop right at sands edge.

There is a little cafe on premise which works for a bite but you'll probably want to head out for a dining experience. They are nice and helpful there though and you can order something and have it brought to you while you relax on the nice expansive deck with ample seating.

Always expect some rain but it passes.

If we get a chance to get back to Fort Myers Beach we would definitely stay here.

Room Tip: Room 164 is a bottom floor right by the pool and close to the sand. And no direct sunlight in the m...

Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Outrigger. In summary: This Resort has everything that you would want at a larger more expensive resort but its for people on a budget. It wasn't the Hilton but allowed us all of the wanted and needed accommodations without breaking the bank. The Details: The room was clean and comfortable. The ladies at the front desk were as sweet as can be. The café has great food at a reasonable price (not like those big name resorts where everything is outrageous) Coupons were offered at the front desk for cabana rental, the café, and sangria. We rented cabanas which were very nice and reasonably priced. The beach is very wide at this point on Fort Myers Beach which important to know. We liked it. Towels were offered for pool and beach. Bar drinks were reasonable as well. And we didn't get dirty looks when we ordered Miami Vices all day (Happens a lot to us). The pool was the only disappointing part. Very small. On Saturday the pool was at full capacity and we just basically jumped in to cool off and then got out. Sunday there were fewer people. And live music. We really enjoyed Sunday by the pool. We stayed far beyond check out as well. We would definitely stay here again. The only thing that disturbed me about this hotel was that the staff was using plastic storage containers to catch the A/C drainage. In the morning I saw a staff member dumping these over the side of the balcony... right where people were walking. He didn't even look over the side to see if anyone was under. A woman walking in front of us almost got soaked.

Room Tip: We had a basic room and was spacious for 3 people. We even had many guests in our room and did not f...

We stayed at the Outrigger and we loved it! Service was excellent, room and bathroom were clean. The beach was clean and we loved the white sand and the fact that the beach was not crowded. As far as the music it was good but should have more variety and not just country music, there were Latin and European guests that would have liked to hear other type of music.
