“Great Place to Stay”

Myself and my two kids stayed at this hotel while in town visiting the in-laws in the area. I wanted a nice, safe place for me and my kids to stay but it had to be very clean. I chose this hotel by recommendation from my sister in law who had stayed there before. This hotel - 20091 Summerlin Rd location- is newly renovated and is very clean. The rooms are nice and clean. The bathroom is clean with ample counter space. The entrance to the rooms are on the outside however if that concerns anyone. I actually prefer for safety reasons, hotel rooms with their entrances not accessible from the outside. We never had any issues - it was very safe and the staff and patrons were very friendly. It had a VERY large pool and a spa. Very good to give some space with fellow swimmers and not feel closed in. The other areas of the hotel - this one had a bar - very clean. Constant cleaning of this hotel. Had a fitness room too. It was small but suffiicient and yes, clean. Location good for Sanibel Island and Ft Myers Beach. You cannot go wrong with this hotel.

The La Quinta sits on US41, about 4 miles south of Fort Myers. It's a bog-standard motel - comfortable bed, good shower, reasonable pool but with scruffy furniture, carb-heavy breakfast in cramped surroundings, and some night-time noise. It shares a parking lot with Mel's Diner. One night was fine, but two would have been one too many.

As with two earlier Tripadvisors of this property, my wife and I had stayed previously at the new La Quinta Inn and Suites in Naples, and like the earlier Tripadvisors, we found this older property in Fort Myers somewhat of a comedown. But we were not surprised at the difference. The Fort Myers property doesn't pretend to be one of the newer, upper-tier La Quintas and charges an appropriate and much lower rate, so it's really not at all fair to compare the two. As a place for a very short stay in Fort Myers, this isn't a bad spot at all.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. There was even a little welcome basket of goodies waiting in our room. Yes, this an older-style property (exterior corridors, etc.) but everything seemed to be well-maintained and very clean. Breakfast was basic but there's a Mel's Diner across the parking lot if you need more, and any number of other dining and retail options up and down the main highway outside.

No, it's not "memorable" but we would certainly stay here again if we were just passing through the area.

Based on the reviews I read on Hotels.com, I was concerned that my requested non-smoking room would not happen or I would have a room where the secondary smoke was covered up that was old and smelly. My first positive note was the key. It is not a magnetic strip type card that sometimes works, but a thicker plastic key with holes in it. The lock worked perfectly every time. Upon seeing Room 109, I was completely impressed by its cleanliness. The large king size bed was made to military perfection. There was no odor to the room at all to suggest covering up secondary smoke. The bathroom and sink area was spotless, the refrigerator exceptionally quiet, the carpet was clean and not overly worn, and the A/C worked perfectly. I did not hear any noises coming through the walls from the neighboring rooms either. It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop in the sink. The bed was so comfortable, I slept through my alarm. The staff was also a delight and very professional both during the evening hours as well as the morning shift. And, there were no maids to bang on your door at the crack of dawn waking you up. The only issue, which really isn’t an issue, was the wireless Internet was down for the evening. I definitely plan on using La Quinta Inn off of Cleveland Avenue (in Ft Myers) again and I recommend their service to others as well. Thanks La Quinta!!!

Previous to our trip to Fort Myers we stayed in La Quinta Inn, Naples and were impressed with the quality of service and the embiance, thus confirming our decision to stay in La Quinta Inn, Fort Myers. Bad decison...
We were very disappointed with the room, it was smelly, dirty, noisy, bug infested and creepy. The hotel is defintely not worth the price it costed us for 1 night.
I strongly recommend that parents not take their kids to that hotel.
One good thing (yes there is some good) was the location, there were restaurants and malls close by and downtown wasn't too far away.

I stayed in room 308 facing the pool. This is a GREAT place. For me I wasn't expecting such a great place. I just wanted a place to sleep being in the Ft Myers/Sanibel Island area with all the sunshine and things to do, it wasn't like I was going to be spending alot of time in the room. It is close to Sanibel Island and Fort Myers beach. The bathroom was very adequate plenty of room. The pool area was very nice with a big hot tub very relaxing before going to bed. The continental breakfast was good. There is a exercise room for people who like to work out.The front desk personnal were very helpful with any questions like directions to nice places to eat. The hotel is clean and the hotel is in is a nice area. For the price this is the best place to stay. I would definately go back again..!!

We spent two nights and this hotel. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was ok. The rooms and common areas were really dirty. The carpet had awfully big dark stains. When we arrived there was an ice cream box and lid with some ice cream on the floor near the ice machine and for the whole time we stayed there it was not picked up. It was cheap, but for this price I stayed in much cleaner places.
