I had to travel from Naples Florida, starting at 6:35 PM, to Fort Myers, to get a room in Fort Myers, and check in, at 10:00 PM.
Days Inn" South ?" Airport - Fort Myers
This name is confusing. The location is located near the old WW II ERA Page Field Airport. It is a 25 minute drive to RSW Fort Myers International Airport which is further "South" than Page Field. The term "south" may perhaps be in context with other Days Inn's in the area but I found that linking it to "South Airport" to be deceptive marketing. I was looking for lodging closer to RSW and would not have booked that location. Shame on me for not mapquesting! The room was spacious and clean and a good value. Included a couch, utility fridge but oddly no telephone. Complementary breakfast is always a plus at Days Inn but the eating area was undersized or a lacking enough seating. At 8AM people overflowed into the lobby and some still had to stand. The desk clerk apparently also had to maintain/restock the busy breakfast service but this double duty of breakfast and main desk caused a line at the check in/out. Despite this obvious stress point she had a very professional demeanor, maintaining a pleasant attitude, even when confronted with obviously disgruntled guests tired of waiting. Given the hotel was full, as evident by no vacancy pronouncements, it seemed odd they would be understaffed, but I observed that short staffing trend at another Day's Inn as well, during my recent stay in South Florida.
