If you are looking for a great place for walking or biking, right in the heart of Fort Myers, this is the place for you. This is a 5 mile long paved pathway running from Colonial Blvd to Six Mile Cypress (just a little W of Metro Pkwy), with a drainage canal right beside it all the way. If you are really lucky, depending on your point of view, you might get to see a gator in this canal, like I did just the other day. There are also lots of birds, fish & turtles in the canal. There are a few picnic table areas but no washroom facilities or any other services on this trail. Other than 3 or 4 places where this trail crosses a street, you would hardly know that you are in the middle of Fort Myers. Another similar trail in Fort Myers is the North Colonial Linear Park.
