This restaurant was Biddles last year and we had a not so great experience there but decided to try it again. It seems to be still a work in progress in terms of what it want to offer when, so don’t depend on what you see in a publication as to when such things as “early bird specials” are offered. We saw a couple give the waiter a coupon only to be told it was old (there was not expiration date) and would not be honored.
That said, there is a happy hour with half price drinks and specially priced appetizers. My husband had the shrimp cocktail and I had the bruschetta and both were great although again I would ask that the balsamic be over the bruschetta rather than as a decoration on the plate.
We then moved to the early bird specials in the restaurant. Both our entrees were very good. Again, make sure you understand the rules. You need to order two beverages for the early bird specials and what you ordered from the bar in happy hour doesn’t count. Also a week ago, the end time for the EB was 5:45 and now it is 5:30, so maybe it is best to call ahead in what seems to be a changing environment.
We may try this restaurant again this year, but feel it is one where you have to be on your guard to make sure you are getting what is advertised. It also seems that there is a lot of turnover in wait staff. Our waiter didn’t seem very familiar with the menu and didn’t seem familiar with “the rules” governing our next door table’s coupons.
