“About Time Fort Myers had a Good Japanese Buffet”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Jingo Du took its sweet time getting here, but it was worth the wait. All of our favorites, just like Makinos in Fort Lauderdale. Except the cold shrimp. Here you have to peel it. There it was already peeled. And the coconut ice cream (I really love coconut ice cream).

They have great sushi, sashimi, oysters, mussels, squid salad. tons of pickled ginger, edamame, habachi bar, and a good assortment of fried foods, all the reasons why you go to a Japanese buffet to eat to much, drive home, and go right to bed.

“very good buffet”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

i have eaten at jingo du three times now and have yet to be disappointed. my wife and i normally do not care for buffets but decided to try this restaurant and we were very surprised. there is a very large selection that encompasses; stir fry, sushi, sashi, appetizers (mussels & peel n eat shrimp), hot foods, and desserts. we have not found any of the food to be unacceptable and have always walked away happy. give them i try, i don't think you will be disappointed.

“Jingo Du really means "avoid" in Japanese”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

Was truly hoping this was going to be tasty as Japanese buffets usually are great values and the kids love them but was sadly disappointed.

First let me tell you that the sushi was the size of a postage stamp. Not kidding it really was that small. The salmon sashimi was still frozen as I bit into it and I felt an icy crunch.

The soups were tasteless and the hot food was bad with two exceptions: the fried chicken legs and fried rice. Not sure I would tell all if southwest Florida to go here for fried chicken though.

The place is clean and the service was ok. But so long as the food is bad does it really matter?

“mixed reveiws”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

We have eaten @ jing du 3 times. Our 1st visit was awesome. The food was hot & properly labeled except for the ice cream. Un fortunately, our waitress spoke no english, so my "iced tea" was a mystery drink. We have returned 2 more times & the hot food was hit or miss. The lo mein noodles that were delish our 1st visit were bland & very mushy. The vegetable tempura was warm @ best. All 3 times the sushi variety was spectacular & impressive. We will try one more time & hope to get that wow again.
