Description: Walking through the front doors, guests are greeted by the in-house seafood market, where the Prawnbroker showcases their specially chosen fresh fillets of fish and beef, hand-cut on premise, that are sure to tempt the palates of all. To emphasize their commitment to buying local and bringing you the freshest seafood Ft. Myers has to offer, you'll find our hand picked selection straight from the local waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Here you'll get a peek at the sumptuous fare that you'll soon be enjoying from their comfortable yet elegant dining room. Feast your eyes on mouth-watering Snapper, Gulf Shrimp, Softshell Crabs, Mahi Mahi, and the best Grouper Florida has to offer. Small tubs of pale pink creamy shrimp bisque stand in line next to bases for both kinds of chowder - New England style being what the restaurant is most famous for, a nod to the original owners' home region. Diners consistently return to enjoy these favorites plus the greatest Florida Stone crabs (in season) and Maine Lobsters.

We went with another couple who had been there before and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was nice, the service was excellent and the fish was outstanding. No one in our group had any complaints. I had the escargot appetizer and it was excellent. Reservations are highly recommended and call a couple of days ahead if you need a particular time. They have a very nice bar area if you want to get there early for a before dinner cocktail.

Wanting a seafood dinner, Mom and Dad suggested this place which has been there for many years. Definitely make a reservations otherwise expect to hang in the bar area. The wine menu by glass and by bottle is reasonable. As for the seafood which was our primary purpose, they have some unusual dishes and combinations. Specials sometimes go quickly. The mini-crabcakes were good - no filler Mom said. Broiled seafood combination, grouper, and tilapia were good. Typical tastes - no oohs and aahs for me. The service is efficient.

If you don't mind eating about 6:00 pm make your reservation for about 5:00 pm and you will get the opportunity to order from the early bird menu. Order must be placed by 5:30 pm.

The restaurant has plenty of booths and is well laid out. The menu features fish but the steak is also excellent. By ordering from the early bird menu you get soup or salad, vegetables, potatoes and the main entree fish or meat. The portions were also reasonable, not too large which appeals to us seniors. This is not really a kids place and you would be well advised to make a reservation. Even at 5:00 pm those who did not have reservations were waiting outside.

I have no hesitation in recommending this place. It was great the full course meal with a beer was about $18 pp.

This is an upscale and still a relaxed place. I have never been disappointed in anything I have ordered.

Most restaurants in Ft Myers are just chain restaurants with fried foods and hamburgers on the menu. It's a shame the people here don't demand real restaurants. In any event this is a decent place with real servers; that is a full step beyond the usual. Seafood was good but this is not a a gourmet restaurant. For that you almost need to get on an airplane! The fish was fresh and done correctly. The menu had good but not exciting selections; still better than most.
