Our first visit - lunch for 6...reserved in advance on the patio....felt like we were dining in an elegant southern resort (not downtown Ft Myers) - white tablecloths and serviettes - white wrought iron furnishings...tall trees, greenery & flowering bushes....tables well set apart for privacy...the best Bloody Mary's...we each had a different lunch accompanied by glasses of wine....everyone in our party raved about this "new gem" which I researched on the internet. Our server was pleasant and attentive and although at times a bit confused with the orders....we found her abilities to be generally very satisfactory. The Veranda - a charming restaurant with loads of ambiance.....we live 45 minutes away but it was a wonderful place to meet friends from Naples and Port Charlotte. If you enjoy the patio, you will surely enjoy the elegant bar and dining room areas (there is also a small private dining room for a group of perhaps 12). This is definitely a restaurant that you will want to return to - again and again. If you have not had lunch or dinner here - we suggest you make a reservation and try it as soon as possible!! (Not suitable for small children or for those who prefer an "eat and run" establishment)...there is no doubt you will have a wonderful time. Dress code - smart casual...no shorts in the dining room in the evening.

This quaint restaurant in an historic home is located in the heart of the old Fort Myers district. It has a great ambiance, and the food was superb. There were four of us in our party, and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. The service was very attentive. They have a fairly extensive wine list, but prices are a little above average.

This is not a restaurant for everyday dinning, but it is a wonderful place for your special occasions.

This is the 2nd year in a row that we eaten our Anniversary dinner at The Veranda. We made a reservation a week in advance, requested a window table and were seated almost exactly where we sat last year which was perfect giving us a garden view. We started with a shrimp cocktail, followed by a table side Caesar salad( outstanding!). My wife had the prime rib and I had the Veal piccata. Both were excellent! Our waiter Pete was great and to top it off, our 3 daughters called in and picked up the tab! A very special restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.

We had a lovely evening dining outside. It felt like your own private backyard garden. (I noticed it was very busy inside). We started by trying the oysters rockafeller and they were very good. Always enjoy a spinach salad and it was pretty standard, slightly overdressed. We chose entrees to share; a seafood pasta dish & beef tornadoes. Both were delicious and the beef was tender, melt in your mouth. We weren't rushed. It was an unforgettable night at The Veranda and would dine there again when visiting.

We have been long-time patrons eating 6-8 times per year over the last 15 years. Our latest visit however has demonstrated a decidedly new and disdainful attitude towards customers. Bringing guests 35 miles to show them our once-favorite dining venue turned out to be embarassing. While we waited over 45 minutes past our reservation time for a table even though we arrived 5 minutes early, we were treated to snotty and unprofessional hostesses, one of whom even had the unmitigated gall to tell us our reservation was for 30 minutes later, then returning and admitting she was wrong. We sat at the bar for the 45 minutes and bought our own drinks, which should have been comped from the start (see Four Seasons!). The manager offered a bottle of wine comped which was a decent gesture, but we feel the should have comped the entire meal, as they clearly greedily overbooked the venue well beyond capacity. Food quality was good, but by the time it arrived we were exhausted and the diabetic in our party was feeling ill as she was 45 minutes late eating. Darn shame as we have sent dozens, if not hundreds to this place over the years. It will be hard for us to ever go back there. These people have become disrespectful, ungracious and disdainful of their patrons. This nights was even marked as special occasion anniversary when we made reservation, and not even a single acknowledgement of this was made. It is a sad shame that greed has sadly defeated grace in this once gracious place.
