True Red Sox fans will not leave Fort Myers without experiencing a day at the park. It is worth the traffic jams and outrageous food and drink prices. Next best thing to being at Fenway!

The park was easy to get to from our hotel It is basically brand new. It is a gorgeous little park and was sold out. Because it is hot there during this time, a lot of the seats have shade from an overhang. We were in the third row so we had to take a break periodically from the sun. They have a umber of sunscreen dispensers situated around the park. Traffic can be tricky and I would suggest you get there early.

First of all, the park itself is great. It's a replica of Boston's Fenway Park. Which is a good thing for the rookies. They get to practice what it's like to take fly balls off the Green Monster and the crazy triangles in center and right field. We arrived early (do this.. the traffic is crazy) and glad we did. There are tons of outdoor tents of food and beverage and live bands. A real party atmosphere. Almost like walking down Yawkey Way in July. Due to the success and popularity of the Sox, we had to pay over list price for SRO tickets on top of the Green Monster. If you want to chance it, they do have limited tickets the morning of the day of a game, if you like taking risks. Now the people that work there (Ushers) are retired people that probably work for nothing or next to nothing. However, give them a badge and they become Barney Fife of Fenway. They are control freaks, checking tickets every time you climb down the stairs of the Monster to get some food (no real food on the deck) or use the bathroom. I guess that's the price you pay for older people working.. they forget they just saw you 5 minutes before. When we wanted to leave the SRO Monster Deck, we noticed a set of stairs that led down behind center field and right out to where we parked. The guard dog (aka Usher) advised us we could descend them until after the 7th inning. So we had to go the other way and literally walk around the entire ball park to get to our car. Really? Overall a great place, they just need to tweak a few things and it will be perfect.

Really nice park! My husband, his sister and her husband are from Boston originally and had attended many games at Fenway Park. It was a treat for them to see the Red Sox even though they lost. There was a band playing outside the park and there were plenty of food and beverage stands inside and outside the park.

Coming down from New England in February to see the Red Sox begin spring training in warm, sunny Florida is a great way to beat the winter blues. Jet Blue Park is a relativelty new park and the facility really does a great job showcasing the Red Sox. Come early and watch the players practice. We not only saw lots of minor leaguers, we also saw some of the up and coming players and even Dewey Evans.
