Chocolate deluxe. Supreme. Try the Mexican hot chocolate but ask them to add a shot of espresso. To die for!! Not inexpensive but excellent. A must stop when visiting fort myers

We visit Fort Myers twice a year from the UK and this is a must the day after we arrive for chocolates and the day we go home, as it is on the way to airport. We also go for coffee and a pastry at least once whilst we are their (well OK at least twice) and the pasties are to die for. Not quite sure how I can describe the chocolates if the pastries are to die for, the chocolates are little works of art, they look fantastic just far too good to eat, and they taste even better than they look. For me absolute sheer heaven. If you enjoy cooking you should also try their courses they are great fun and you bring home what you make! I just wish I could visit more often.

Go to NLC on the first day of your holiday, have a cake, coffee and icecream, buy the biggest box of chocolates you can and sit back and ENJOY. Call again as you head for the airport and BUY ANOTHER big box of chocolates for the ride home.

I have attende two training sessions at NLC, good value and training given on both days, book early to ensure you get a place.

The cakes are to die for, they look so good and taste fantastic well done Norman.

Florida citrus or a T-shirt are the usual take home gifts for those who didn't make the trip. If you are looking for something different, I definitely recommend Norman Love Chocolate Salon on Daniels, near the Fort Myers airport. It makes a great last stop for visitors. I take family and friends there just before they head home. High end chocolate fanatics may know Norman Love from the Food Network (a judge) and other TV appearances. He is consistently rated one of the top pastry chefs and chocolatiers in the US. The cost is on par with Godiva, but much better quality! Selections like Key Lime, Lemon, Orange and Mango chocolates make it truly Florida. If you like very dark , try the "black" chocolates and the spicy jalapeno dark chocolate. You can get assortments in a variety of sizes in the signature light green box with brown ribbon, but you pay extra for the packaging. A less expensive option is a plain white box. You'll want to go to the Norman Love Artisan Gelato shop two doors down before you get your chocolates. There is outside table seating. My favorite is the Hazelnut Praline gelato. I found a surprise thin chocolate wafer in my cup last time....mmmmm. The Salon also does night classes, usually twice a month-- chocolate, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, or wine and chocolate pairings. They book up very quickly so you must book well ahead!. You must wear closed toed shoes or they can't allow you in class, ditto on the tacky hair nets (they provide those). Avoid Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. On Valentine's we encountered a line well out the door and a police officer for crowd and traffic control. And yet, we did not leave.....had to have the chocolate fix.
