“Wonderful local theater”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

I have been a season ticket holder since their first performance and every year it gets better and better. I go with my girlfriends and we always have a wonderful time. I highly recommend this local theater for top grade live entertainment in Fort Myers.

“Old World Charm - Broadway Level Performances”
Reviewed December 18, 2011

The Florida Rep is absolutely the best in community theatre. In fact, it's better than that.

While not the size able to support a large production (there probably aren't 500 seats), that makes it wonderful. Every seat is fabulous and there are truly no bad seats or blocked views. Being in it's nearly original condition, one can imagine Ina and Thomas Edison walking in to watch a show. Every performance begins with a greeting from the administration, putting you immediately in the mood for the show.

The level of performers is also exceptional. Having been a frequent patron, we have not ever seen a bad show or performance. Now there is also a studio theatre, which caters to an even more intimate viewing. Here the seating is not quite as comfortable or good, but most are one act performances that suit the locale.

The cost of the performances is also a winner. I am probably going to regret this, but the ticket price is probably half of what it should, or could be.

You are always met with a hometown feel when you walk into the lobby. There is a small concession stand, which sells soda, water, "soft" adult beverages and some snacks. Adding to the home town feel is the 50/50 raffle that takes place at every performance.

This is a place and the performances are of a quality that I would be comfortable on a date with my wife, another couple or business associates.

“Broadway quality in Fort Myers”
Reviewed December 14, 2011

When I signed up for this year's Florida Rep play series, my expectation was for the typical local theatre experience. However, the two shows we've seen so far-Neil Simon's "Rumors" and a radio play style version of "It's a Wonderful Life"-have definitely been Broadway caliber and without the Broadway crowds and high prices! The scenery and acting were top-notch and the seating is intimate and comfortable. It's also easy to find a good restaurant nearby and walk to the theatre at showtime. We're looking forward to the rest of the season. A great way to enjoy an evening in Fort Myers.
