“THANKSGIVING ON THE TRAIN”

I went on the Thanksgiving dinner trip on the Seminole RR mystery train on 11/28/2013. The train arrived on time, something I'm not used to with trains. I was shown to my table which was beautifully prepared with tasty garnishments and linen and silverware.
The 5 course meal was served by the friendliest person I've ever had at a restaurant while enjoying the scenery roll by. The food was delicious. It was about a three hour trip and cost only $42.

“Train Buff's Delight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

If you are a train or community theater buff, you will enjoy the Seminole Gulf Railway Murder Mystery Dinner Train. Foodies will love this as well. Speaking of food, it is delicious and plentiful. You will not leave hungry. From the moment you are seated, a tray of fresh fruit, cheses and crackers are awaiting you. The dinner is 5 courses, with a soup, salad, meat, side dish and dessert served. It is a good thing the train trip was about 3 hours long. I could not have eaten all of that food in less than a few hours. The nostalgic train ride was very enjoyable and the show was a lot of fun. It changes by season, so there is always something new for return visitors. The only negative I could find is that it is a bit pricey. The fare is around $70 per person and does not include any beverages.

When the train is pulling up to the depot, you will notice how huge and loud this thing is. We entered the train and found our seats. A plate of cheese and crackers and fruit are waiting. You
Look at the menu and order. Set back and enjoy the ride after each course there are 2 acts. Where in the end you need to figure out who did it. The service , food an doctors are great. We have done this for the second time and will go again

“Stuck!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

For numerous years, I had wanted to go on this "trip". Myself and two other ladies had been looking so forward to this experience, dinner and a "murder" on a train ride .. how lovely. Well, I would be, if there weren't a12th birthday party on board for a group of approximately 15 children! The parents did not control them, we asked the servers numerous times to speak to the parents/guardians to get these children in check. We believe the servers did speak to them but nothing changed. The noise was horrific. You couldnt converse at your own small table. The train car is not that large, there is no way to get away from someone that chooses to be unruly. Everyone that was not with this group was impacted and the servers did tell us that all of us not connected to them, were not very happy and had complained regarding them. At the end of the ride, one server gave us a name, Paula, to contact in the office the next day, which we did. We said that perhaps they should have advised of this larger group of young children, so that we could have booked for another night .. only to be informed that age is of no concern to them. Well if age is of no concern, then certainly behavior should be .. anyone that is unruly and ruining the experience for others should be dealt with. Period. We can't even get this woman at the office to call us back, never mind get a resolution to this situation. This evening cost approx. $100 per person. The food was very good. Even the murder was somewhat difficult to follow as these children would talk to the actors and try to interact. We believe that either a refund of 50% or, a discount of 50% on trying to get the full experience again, would be a good resolution to the problem. Again, hard to resolve when no one will call you back. We all three head bad headaches and ear aches from the noise of these kids. They were even doing cheers!! Unbelievable. And their parents/guardians did not care that they were ruining what should have been a delightful evening for all the adults. Bottom line .. if you're time on board is being ruined by others, you are stuck on this train for over three hours. We are very VERY disappointed, especially in the lack of response by the Seminole Gulf Railway.
