“Must stop here!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

Excellent service, awesome food adventure. We were looking for something unique and not commercial and we scored here! Don't be afraid to ask questions. We basically had no idea what we ordered, but it was all excellent. The seafood mixito civiche appetizer was good, I got the thin sliced steak with fried egg and plantains and it was wonderful. so much food! Worth every dime. Great wine selection too.

“They're Not Trying Too Hard”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

I'm not sure where TripAdvisor gets the idea that the price range is "10-20". There's nothing for 10 and most items are so close to 20 that it'd be more honest to just say "20 and above." In our experience, the food is better than average for the area, but in general the menu is overpriced. We sampled the provoleta appetizer (excellent, but $10 for about $2 worth of cheese is a little offensive), the Pescado a lo Macho (exceptional), and the Churrasco de Vacio (because they were out of the Churrasco de Entrana). It's advertised as a "12 oz Skirt Steak" but was closer to about 8. Nicely cooked, but 18 bucks for that and a small portion of steamed rice is the kind of thing that makes people write negative reviews. Similarly, $8 for a very mediocre glass of Malbec isn't the kind of thing that makes you want to come back (plus the fact that, though there's a long wine list, they offer only one red and one white by the glass.) Pet peeve: They also advertise "pisco sours" but don't actually have pisco. Long explanation that required two waiters to get to the bottom of this, but that's the upshot: It says pisco, but they don't actually have pisco. Hence, they don't have pisco sours. They should change the menu because it's misleading. Very congenial service.

“Small intimate place with excellent food”
Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

Great little place with really good food and service. The only complaint that I have is that we had to sit beside a pompous arrogant man who would not shut up but no reflection on the restaurant and God Bless Pilar for dealing with him so graciously!

A wonderful non chain, family owned restaurant located in Central Ft. Myers. Steak and chicken was fantastic! Highly recommend patronizing this great establishment.

“Yummy”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

This is a great ethnic restaurant using unique ingredients that are so flavorful. For example, they make a specialty non-alcoholic drink made with blue corn...it really is yummy. It is such a treat to go to a restaurant that doesn't have the same old menu items and the price point is fair. The décor is nice and it is fun to try something new.
