“Last time ever”
Reviewed December 5, 2013 via mobile

I hate to give a bad review, but this place earned it. We went back 3 times just to be sure, and other reviewers support my conclusions.
1. The service is always good. Our waitress checked on us several times. That's good.
2. One of the first things she mentioned is that you don't get refills on coffee. Oh really. ..are we in Paris or Ft. Myers, where coffee is always refilled. So we both ordered coffee to start and were brought 1/2 a cup of warm coffee. If you're out to gouge us for flavored water, it should at least be worthwhile.
3. The pizza is way overpriced. $16 for a plain pie. Each topping, even sauce is an up-charge. Get three or four toppings and your pie is now $25. Add a salad and a couple of drinks and your pie is in the $50 range.
4. Oh yeah, the pie is just mediocre. Thin, wet and flavorless, hardly what you would expect for these premium prices.
5. The toppings are scarce. Not much cheese either. The roasted peppers and mushrooms are canned not fresh.
6. I can't believe a pizza joint would up-charge you for garlic or sauce. It's a freaking pizza place.
7. NOT GOING BACK.

“Definitely NOT Brooklyn!!”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

They should be ashamed to use that very famous and popular name on this place.Locals in Ft. Meyers might think it's good compared to other places, but being from NY,not so much. Pizza was nothing to write home about. Crust was very dry and not charred as it should be. Got excited when I saw the restaurant, then got let down when I ate there.Maybe it is true that you need NY water to make the dough??

“Disappointing”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

The sangria was underwhelming. My girlfriend had sam adams winter brew and wound up waiting until we had almost finished eating for her to deliver her 2nd beer which was served in a smaller glass than the first. We had antipasto which was on the skimpy side. The bread was adequate but plain and there was no seasoning for olive oil and no butter. We waited over 45 minute after the appetizer for our pizza which was overdone on the crust but underdone on the bottom and center. The manager did apologize for our wait and comped the pizza which didnt really compensate for how poorly it was made. The final insult was when the waitress poorly wrapped our leftover pizza in tin foil instead of placing it in a box. The people next to us said they were not impressed either.

“Brooklyn Pizza!”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

We were born in Brooklyn and have had the best pizza our whole lives. We go to Grimaldi's every time we're in Fort Myers. It's fun, the wine is good, my grandson gets to play with pizza dough, the salads are fantastic and we always have a great meal and a great time.

“Good Pizza/Slow Service”
Reviewed November 1, 2013 via mobile

Do not go to this place if you are hungry or in a hurry. You will be very disappointed. The pizza is generally good, but having to wait 45 minutes after you order is not acceptable. I do not care how good the pizza is.
