“THE BEST”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

This restaurant is on the way towards Fort Myers Beach on Old McGregor Road. Well decorated interior. Great service and food. We ordered Sauerbraten & Schweinebraten, liver dumpling soup & apple struedel. Large, tasty liver dumplings in a flavorful broth. Entrees were tender, served with the appropriate gravy/sauce, dumpling and sauerkraut or red cabbage. Delicious! The apple struedel was a fresh, generous serving with whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream. We cannot wait to go back.

“Good for a beer and appetizer”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Bratwurst house is good for a couple of boots of Paulaner beer and a rollmop or two. The nurnberg wursts are okay also but I wouldnt eat a full meal here.
There are better authentic German restaurants in Fort Myers were there is more emphasis on quality.
Every time we go, one of the owners always seems immersed in checking the night's receipts rather than seeing if guests are enjoying themselves. Could just be coincidence though.

“Just ok, nothing special”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We dined here on a Saturday night, it was fairly slow at 8pm, only a few tables. We started with a few apps. The potato pancakes came out really quick...and they were rubbery, almost as if they were microwaved too long. My overall impression is that the food is made ahead of time in batches and reheated. The sauces were bland, no flavor and parts of our dish were cold....I thought maybe from sitting, but they arrived within 10 min of ordering, 5 min after our app? The staff seemed more interested in what was on tv at the bar, than attentively servicing the 4 tables that were occupied. The food is ok, but feels like reheated leftovers, not fresh!

“Pleased with our visit here.”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

We visited this restaurant with an open mind as the reviews were mixed, but left with very positive reviews of our own. We all were very pleased with our dinners and between us we had sauerbraten, schweinbraten, jaeger schnitzel, cordon blue schnitzel, and beef goulash. The service was good, the food piping hot, and everything tasted fresh and well seasoned.
. It was great to have well prepared food in a nice atmosphere (very casual) and at very reasonable prices for good sized portions. It is definitely a place I would go again

“New ownership not what we remembered”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We have eaten here on past trips to Fort Myers and were looking forward to a German meal. I have to say we were very disappointed and would not return. The new owner sat us and explained that they were in the process of making their changes so we would have to wait for a menu until one was available?? We ordered the potato pancakes, one of my favorites, and found it acceptable but not great. Our meals of schnitzel, sauerbraten and pork were ok but nothing to rave about. The side dish of spaetzle was tasteless and the red cabbage just ok. Definitely would not recommend.
