What an enjoyable place to be for a day! There were throngs of people visiting and I thought it might make for an unpleasant experience; however, the grounds are so large that we didn't really notice how busy it was. We were unable to get a group tour because of the crowds. Instead we went on the self-guided audio tour. The audio was good, but I would have rather had a docent-led tour. I overheard some bits of other tours and I know there was additional information provided as well as Q and A. Otherwise the audio was sufficient to learn about the two homes, the grounds and its many varieties of latex-producing trees and palm trees, and the relationship between Edison and Ford. Mainly, it was nice just to stroll through the grounds, sit and look over the water, and relax. It is one of the more relaxing tourist attractions. It is easy to miss the museum and laboratory, but don't! They are worth a walk-through.
