Very cool place to see, the drive to it is even nice. GPS is a bit kooky getting you into the parking lot but well worth the trip

My boys are 6 and 8 so we just toured the museum and lab section. My oldest is gifted and a historian so he was in heaven. We had a wonderful woman that was a staff member who just wowed us with her knowledge and really made history come to life. So much so that my youngest who is not interested in history took notice and enjoyed the museum as well. The mosquitos were a bit fierce in the lab section but the overall experience was still worth it :)

Wonderful place to visit, and enjoyable. I think this is a place for adults to visit but do think that children may be disappointed to be taken to the Estate. I do believe it is more geared for adults.

The Edison and Ford Estates are examples of picture perfect Floridian architecture from days bygone. During the summer months, it can get crowded and hot. The Edison and Ford Festival in November is extra special.

This was one of the most enjoyable times during our visit to Captiva / Sanibel. The tour was very interesting and enjoyable. I was fascinated by the Edison house, the home was sold with all furniture to city of Ft. Meyers with all furniture and accessories. Edison and Ford homes were wonderful examples of the transition between Victorian and Arts and Crafts eras.

Thank Steve G
