“Could have flushed the money & liked it more”

Very pretty & lots of pretty flowers & big trees but way too expensive for walking up to a door & looking in. Could have seen those from the parking lot. Souveniers in the gift shop just expensive trinkets. Nuts & candy bars were only things to eat. Empty slab of concrete where food was supposed to be. Asked someone on a golf cart about food & they sent us down the street. Left & not going back. Lots more we would rather see in Florida.

everything about it is great...worth the trip for anyone interested in US history and/or invention/industrial history. the lab is especially interesting but all of it is. included are Edison's winter home as well as Henry Ford's..plus a museum and lush tropical grounds and a well stocked gift shop.

“Wonderful holiday outing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

The grounds are beautiful and rich with history, but the gem of the Edison-Ford Estates is the holiday viewing. The only time of the year when the estates are open at night. Decorated for the period, music playing in the background, it's a wonderful festive holiday experience. Go!

“Historical Home”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Edison and Ford Winter estates homes are beautifully restored. It is easy to imagine spending your winter on the river in these beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the museum, the tour, the old cars and the grounds. Well worth a visit.

“Highlight of my trip to Fort Myers!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

I have a degree in History and absolutely loved this place!!!!

You don't have to be a history buff to appreciate the estates. There's a little bit of everything:

museum featuring inventions of Ford and Edison
beautifully landscaped grounds
the Ford and Edison winter estates right on the river!

Not much more to say, but look at my pictures. Hopefully, you can get a feel for the estates!
