The crew, (Andrew + Captain Glen) made the day! They had a wealth of marine wildlife knowledge. The shelling was good and dolphin sitings were spectacular and we spent time enough in the bay to see them feeding and jumping. We learned a lot from Andrew about the variety of birds and the habitat. The best combination of shelling, dolphins and nature cruise that we have experienced in our 10 years of visits to Captiva. Looking forward to viewing the photos Andrew and Mark will post to the website by the time we return to NH.

We went on the trip to Cayo Costa State Park this past October. We were staying on Sanibel Island and just drove over the bridge to the marina where the boat departed from. It was very easy and quick to get to. The boat ride up was about 30 minutes. Along the way, there were a lot of birds and other islands to view. The ride was easy and smooth and so enjoyable. They let our 4.5 year old daughter "drive" the boat and she loved it. The crew was fantastic - very knowledgeable, helpful, laid back and friendly. When we got to Cayo Costa, they set up umbrellas and chairs and gave out snorkeling equipment. Cayo Costa is amazing. We found a ton of beautiful shells and the water is so clear. The whole ecosystem there is a wonder. It is just so pristine. Then we got back on the boat and headed to north Captiva for lunch at Barnacle's. It is not included in the price and you can take along a cooler with your own food, but the food at Barnacle's, although a tad pricey, was so good. (Get the blackened grouper tacos and the black beans and rice!!) Finally, we headed back to the marina and saw so many dolphins along the way which came right up to the ship. It was well worth price and excellent in every way. It was perfect for children and older folks (we had both) - a great family day excursion. Book it - you won't be disappointed. Thanks Capts. Mike and Matt!!

Our family had our first cruise with Adventures in Paradise. We booked the Close Up Encounter Experience and ended up lucky enough that we had just enough people book the cruise for them to go out. Since it was a few families, our captain Glenn let everyone determine how we wanted to proceed on the trip and found us a few pods of dolphins where we got some great video and pictures of them playing and even catching fish along the sandbars. We then moved on to Picnic Island where we were led on a netting expedition with our biologist Andrew. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable on everything we were catching and seeing on the cruise. We ended up catching a variety of sea life, including a puffer fish, sea horse, a tongue fish, shrimp, and crabs. My kids loved it and still talk about holding the puffer fish and the sea horse. Everything was excellent on the trip and we look forward to booking with them again, except on a much longer excursion.

We have used Adventures in Paradise several times for shelling.
The sunset cruise was really enjoyable, Glen the captain was able to find a pod of young dolphins whose antics were illuminated by the setting sun. Lots of information about wildlife, in addition to the dolphins we saw a bald eagle.
The cruise was just after the Red Soxs won the World Series, and as the crew was from the North East they were naturally delighted. As am a visitor from London , Glen and I had a very interesting discussion on comparing and contrasting cricket and baseball.!
Great cruise and outstanding value .

This was my second trip with them. Their day trip takes you to an off the beaten path beach for shelling and sunning. Captain and bioligist stay with you to answer questions and provide guidance. Then off to see the dolphins frolic, followed by lunch at Barnacles. It just doesn't get much better.
