What an amazing trip! Perfect trip for all! Captain Jim and Captain Evan are awesome, super friendly and double as marine biologists, offering an enjoyable educational piece to the tour. So absolutely great to visit North Captiva! We saw hundreds of shells, so many sand dollars, two pods of dolphins, a variety of birds and absolutely 360 breathtaking views! We will definitely return! Thank you Captain Evan and Captain Jim.

Great! Val & Jim were the best boat guides ever! Very natural. We loved it. Loved to see the dolphins. Also saw a couple of bald eagles eating from up close. And we saw a raccoon walking on one of the islands. Great sunset boat ride!

We happened to be walking by the dock and they asked us if we wanted to go, so glad we did. Captain Justin and his naturalist were through my engaging and very knowledgeable. Nice boat, free beverages and a beautiful Florida sunset.

We went on this Dolphin Cruise while in Sanibel. It was really a nice cruise. Captain Harvey and first mate Valerie was very pleasant and informative on the cruise. Saw many dolphins, Bald Eagles and their nest. Know how all the white birds flock to the island at night. We really enjoyed it and I would recommend this cruise to everyone.

We took the cruise to N. Captiva with Captain Jim and Captain Evan. From the beginning, Captain Jim came around to each group on the boat and wanted to know where each was from- personal introductions.

Captain Evan has a degree in marine biology and was a wealth of information with a gift for communicating to us “non-marine biologists” in easily understood terms. Our boat ranged in age from toddler to grandparents and the mix was fantastic!

N. Captiva Island is only accessible by boat with shell treasures and leisure time complete with chairs, umbrellas and Captains that literally cater to both your shell interests and comfort.

Our elementary age son helped drive the boat with Captain Evan. He got his own personal marine biology lesson and felt like a rock star!

Shell lovers dream! Get to N. Captiva with Captain Evan and Captain Jim! You won’t be disappointed. Thank you for the highlight of our vacation!

We took this 6 hour boat trip - “shelling beach & lunch cruise” and really loved it. Went to north captivate island which is only accessible by boat, landed at deserted beach and found great shells, the company supplied chairs and umbrellas and drinks (non-alcoholic). Stayed there about 2 hours, then on to great restaurant, food was good. Saw dolphins and lots of birds on way. Captains Evan and Jim were great, Evan has degree in marine biology so extremely knowledgeable. If we get back to this area in the future, we would take this trip again and/or one of the others.

We had an amazing morning and as promised we saw lots of dolphins and other fantastic sites such as a Bald Eagle on it’s nest!

The boat was clean and very comfortable with lots of complimentary drinks on ice. The crew were great, funny and informative at the same time. My kids had a blast and we would totally recommend this trip to anyone.

Hopefully we’ll do it again next year.

I really enjoyed taking the cruise to North Captiva Island to shell and swim in the calm bay water. The Captain was friendly and Evan the first mate was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. We then went to an extremely overpriced place for lunch. Afterward on the way back we were treated to the boat going to where the dolphins normally swam and to seeing quite a few. It was a very nice way to spend the day and one I would repeat if ever in the area again.

Hi Sherri S,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience on the Shelling & Lunch Cruise. We are happy to read that you had an enjoyable time shelling and swimming on North Captiva Island, as well as your time spent with Capt. Jim E and Capt. Evan.

As for the restaurant, Barnacles, it's only accessible by boat, so the prices there will be slightly higher because everything from the napkins, ketchup and food, as well as the staff must be transported by boat every day to this one-of-a-kind location. Again, we appreciate your feedback and so do hope that you will join us for another adventure and another shot to exceed your expectations for a 5 circle experience. :)

Warm regards from paradise,
The Adventures in Paradise Crew
