I stayed at the Sanibel Harbour Marroitt over Memorial Day Weekend. I was traveling with a friend and we both had never been to Sanibel or Fort Myers. We choose this hotel knowing that it was not on the beach, but hoping there was enough at the property to not need to leave. We were right - this hotel was a little older, but kept up very well. The pool was a decent size, we always managed to get a chair and only ventured out one day to visit the beach. If you are looking for a resort hotel, this is a great choice. Additionally the prices were very reasonable for the food and beverages, and the food was some of the best hotel food I have had. I would have liked if there was a bar opened late night, but we were traveling for a relaxing weekend, not a crazy party weekend, so it was not that big of a deal.

All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the valet staff.

We utilized the spa showers and changing area the last day, and wished we had found that earlier. The gym is huge and as a guest you can use the spa amenities.

I probably will not go back, because it is nice to have a beach right off the hotel, but this was a great weekend.

Room Tip: We had a balcony facing the water, great size and beautiful view.

First, let me say that this is a really nice property! I booked us a 1 bedroom executive suite in the Sanibel Tower. The room was at the end of a long hall so it was pretty quiet. It had a separate living room with a sofa, two chairs, coffee table and TV. The two rooms were separated by a hallway with a closet and entrance to the bath. There was no desk or dining table in the living room portion and no balcony or decent view. The bedroom had a great balcony and view. This set-up would have been fine if we were conducting business in our room and had visitors. As it was, we hardly ventured into the living room so it was a total waste of space and money. When I was scrolling through room types on the hotel's website, I failed to discern the difference between a studio suite and a one-bedroom suite. Carefully consider room type when booking!

This resort has two wonderful pools & poolside service. The views of the harbor are lovely. We were in the main building & the room was ok. The bathroom grout had mold growing. Nice location to Sanibel as you are at the foot of the bridge, though you are a little too far from the action in Fort Myers & no beach.

we booked a long weekend away from the New York cold. Unfortunately it was a rainy weekend but we had a great time. The hotel is beautiful, the location is amazing, right at the base of the bridge to Sanibel Island.

My family has vacationed here for several years and every time we are extremely satisfied with our experience. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are some of the most amiable and accommodating that we've seen. Our weeklong stay in Fort Myers was filled with many meals at several different restaurants but our favorite meal of all was our last dinner at Sanibel Harbour Resort. Our fantastic server, Woody, gave us the best experience in our "last dinner" that we could ever have asked for. The food, beautifully created by chef Doug Clarke, easily won us all over for the best meal of the week. It was a great farewell, but we'll be sad to say goodbye. At least for now.

This hotel is top notch. Beautiful location and grounds. Service is excellent. Everyone is helpful and friendly. Great to relax by the pools and have a few drinks at the pool bar. Restaurants are great, especially the breakfast buffet at Tarpon. We had 2 kids with us and it is great for families, but I would like to bring my wife back for a stay with just the 2 of us.
There are water sports available on site if you want some action.
This place had a wedding going on during our stay. It looked like a great place to have an event as well.

We spent a weekend here while a friend of ours was at a series of seminars given at this hotel. We stayed at the Captiva Tower which is within walking distance and a quick shuttle ride to/from the main hotel. It was quiet, we had the pool to ourselves, however, if you expect beverage service I suggest you visit the pool at the main hotel or ask to book a room there, otherwise this is a great place to bring your own bottle of chilled wine and imbibe poolside in peace. Upon check in we found the room to be comfortable, updated and clean. We did find someones leftover food in the fridge along with an open bottle of suds. We left it outside the door and it was promptly picked up and later we received a call apologizing and following up offering a credit of $25 on our bill. There was usually someone at the desk in the lobby, hot beverages in the morning and nice cool "spa" beverages in the afternoon/evening. Did I mention that each and every employee approached was extremely friendly and helpful. My daughter and I pre-ordered breakfast one night and the next morning it arrived in timely fashion, mine was the correct temperature, cooked to perfection, muffins fresh and fresh juice and my daughter enjoyed her granola yogurt which was a huge portion. One evening we decided to stay in and enjoy the steakhouse, we shuttled to the main hotel and opted to walk to the restaurant. It was a pleasant walk on a boardwalk, well lit, but warning if you are prissy and don't like nature, remember this is Florida, we have insects, yes there are mosquitoes, yes there are spiders, they live here, it is there home. :) Having said that, take the shuttle to the restaurant if you don't like nature walks. The restaurant was very nice, well staffed, friendly waiters & host, fine wine offerings & awesome filet mignon! Note everything is ala carte and is on the pricey side, so if you are budgeting this is not your place. Instead opt to drive over the bridge and visit the Mucky Duck for a sunset cocktail and fresh fish offerings as we did the next night, don't forget to stop by the bubble room and get a desert to go, however, only get one as it will easily feed an army! Only downfall, we only wish we had time to enjoy the sunset cruise and/or spa. Ahhh till next time ... PS: I am a native Floridian and I can see this could easily become my next fav west coast stop...
