“Needs cleaning up, could be better, staff is very friendly though!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2011

The staff was very friendly. When we stepped on the elevator to go up to our upper floor room there was what seemed to be a splattered dried pina colada on the inside of the elevator door. I mentioned to the bellman that it looked like housekeeping might need to swing in there to wipe it down. He chuckled and that stain remianed there the entire weekend of our stay. Another elevator door had a smashed bloody bug on the inside of the door that remianed there also the entire stay. Doesn't housekeeping clean the elevator interiors in hotels anymore? There was dirty unkempt details to this hotel. Door handles with prints all over them in rooms, long black hair all in bedding when we turned the sheets down the first night as if the sheets were never changed.

The second night a loud party checked into the room next to us and they sounded like they were arguing all the time very loudly.

On the bright side the Court Side Steak House on property was great. Seafood was superb. Giant shrimp cocktalils, wonderful lobster and great service staff.

I felt that this place had its day but is heading downhill as time goes on. Great location but time is not kind to this place.

We went on the brunch yacht cruise and had a fabulous time. The personal service from the wait staff made us feel as though we were on our very own private cruise. The food was delicious....great variety and the quality was superb. The captain of the boat was very friendly and the sights on the water were memorable. We saw manatees and dolphins jumping in the Bay...our kids still talk about it! We can't wait to visit the resort again!

My husband does business in Fort Myers and usually stays elsewhere. However, since I joined him on this trip, I wanted to see water. It's a bit difficult to find, especially with a midnight arrival. However, the room was great, view incomparable, F&B great as well. Drinks from the Cove (pool bar) were pricey but it was nice to have 3 "skinny" options for drinks made with Crystal Lite. There are a couple pools - one for families and one for adults which is a nice option if you want a quieter time.

Have stayed at this hotel and in the condos several times...Service as always was great as were the views! Felt their suites were pricey as well as the restaurants...The furniture looked a bit worn in our suite overlooking the pool. Stated it had a mini fridge but they brought one in and sat it on the floor. Parking was $
Was very disappointed when we went to the pool at 11:30 and there were NO chairs available. Didn't think to bring any to a resort like this! Could not walk on the beach because it was rented to a wedding party!
Both the restaurants had very poor service..Food tasty but waiters had too many tables.
Luckily my sister and I were so happy to be on a spa vacation, we overlooked this. The spa is delightful. Will try again in a different month....

Room Tip: Look for specials on-line....

Very typical older and fairly bland Marriott hotel which really needs to be refreshed. Common areas are nice but rooms are very basic with giant pillows you can't sleep with and a shower spray head that doesn't get you wet. (Seriously, out of the millions of hotel rooms these people offer they can't determine which shower heads are good?) Food and staff were very good. Not the kind of place to vacation but a decent hotel otherwise.

Our room was filthy. Dirty carpet, streaked and dusty table topps, dirty counters and dirty soap dishes. Mold growing in the tub/shower grout. TV didn't work. Thin walls and noisy. Computer printer did not work in the "Business Center" and nobody was abailable to assist. Cleaning staff were unfriendly as were workers in restaurants, bar and food centers and guest shop. Front desk promised to help but did not. Never had a bad hotel experience prior to this stay. Charged for parking, charged for everything including things were never purchased or used.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for a company conference. Service was typical of a Marriott Hotel, which is expected to be very good. The rooms are wonderful - perhaps it's the excellent view of the harbor that made it awesome for me.

The staff were very helpful when I requested for a town car that can bring me to outlet store for shopping.

A must try - the crab cakes at the coffee shop. Very good!

Room Tip: Choose a high enough floor
