Could really see the manatees from above. They hang about in the warm water, near the power station in the winter months so there are always lots to see.

The park was very clean and family friendly. There was a playground and shaded picnic area. We were greeted by friendly employees at the gift shop; kayak and canoe rentals were quick & easy. The staff member at the kayak launch area was also friendly and was very knowledgable about the waterways.

During our trip, we saw two manatee, a stingray, turtles, blue crabs, and many birds. Being able to say that I have seen a real Fl manatee up close & personal is something to brag about! These huge animals are endangered...better see them before they're gone!

(The staff is lenient with their launch and return times, parking was $2.00/hour, and a military discount of 10% off is offered.)

First visit and it was great. We saw a number of manatees and walked around the park. The weather was perfect and the park was not crowded. I understand that the winter months are when the manatee visit this area. We will definitely bring our out of town guests.

Go here on cold days and you will see alot of manatees! Also a nice small nature trail that is a boarwalk. We are going kayaking here soon. It looks like as great water way.

WE went to see the manatees while we were in the area as it had been chilly and all the manatees were there for the warm waters.. We saw alot of very young ones. And one huge one. The place is clean and employees friendly. WE did not use the kayakes but we would like too in the future
