My best friend came down for a quick visit before the holidays. We both had never been to Manatee Park, so why not give it a try. We had a very nice afternoon. We walked around the park. Saw several manatees. Took in an educational information tour and learn lots of interesting facts about the manatees. Stephanie the host, was just full of very interesting facts and we enjoyed learning about them. We then rented a canoe, took our picnic lunch and went down the river for about 2 hrs. Saw lots of wildlife, so close to the manatees and got some exercise all at the same time. What a great way to spend an afternoon with a friend! Thanks...Manatee Park for a great day! :-)

Lovely park to walk the kids around, and maybe see a manatee. Not very large but a nice place to visit.

We have been to Manatee Park a couple times ... we find the best viewing is in January when the Gulf waters get cold, so the Manatees travel up to the park area in large numbers (water is warm from the area power generator). You can often see and photo scores of Manatees almost stacked in some areas. Bring your camera - recommend. Information there area is worth a stop.

The manatees come up for the warm water when it gets cold. Call the Manatee hotline to find out what the populations is on a given day.
We saw a mother and baby!

We came here with the hope of seeing manatees (of which there were many) and were blown away by what a quality park it is.
Firstly this is a free (donations welcomed) attraction, which, although being set off a busy road, feels like a very calm and natural oasis. There are free maps, plenty of wild manatees, A great boardwalk with ecological information, kids games & trails, and lots of very well landscaped grounds. (2 of our party are landscape architects, and it was nearly impossible to drag them away they were very impressed!)
You can pay to kayak with the manatees, or swim with them even, but it was a good couple of hours of entertainment just to walk around. We saw terrapins, and of course, manatees & other bird and animal life.
Great fun, I'd reccommend for all the family.
