Only saw one manatee because it was too warm for them (11am in april). The park is nice though.

There were no manatees because of warm gulf tempatures, but it was a nice place to visit. Tons of snakes there!! Black and yellow snakes and tons of bees, they dont really bother you tho, however.

Who wants to pay $5 for parking to walk around a decently landscaped path along a fenced off area of water and read about manatees and other sea-life, but never see a live manatee? Went 3 times at different times of day, but still no manatees

I really wanted to see manatees, so we drove the 15 miles from Ft. Myers Beach to the free park across from the electrical plant. I heard that the manatees loved the warm water which is discharged from the plant. Unfortunately - the water in Estero Bay had warmed to 83 degrees, and the manatee had left the park. We didn't see any manatee, but had a great walk and read all of the educational post. I recommend that you visit this park during the cooler months.

Took some visiting friends from Tennessee there. Winter, very cold, but we all enjoyed it very much.
