The Worthington Guest House
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 1, 2014

This was my second stay at the Worthington and I enjoyed it fully. The expansive grounds are beautifully maintained, the rooms clean and roomy and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location -- about two blocks from Fort Lauderdale Beach -- is a short drive (or a $12 to $15 cab ride) to the gay bars and restaurants in Wilton Manor. The resort boasts three pools and two hot tubs spread among the three hotels that comprise the complex. The grounds are entirely enclosed by a privacy fence and are clothing optional (although most of the guests wore swimsuits when I was there). The vibe is friendly but not overbearing or overly sexual (although after dark may be a different story). I will definitely return if my travel plans permit.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor facing the pool in the Worthington section are extremely convenient but ma...

Simply stated - Worthington resort is a great choice for a wonderful vacation. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and the property is well maintained. I have returned several times and look forward to my next visit. Keep up the good work!

This was my first time at the Worthington complex and I would definitely go back. The property, a conglomeration of three small properties from the mid twentieth century, is very well maintained. While the rooms are nothing fancy, they are comfortable and clean. The three pools are nice, and provide a good opportunity to meet fellow travelers. The beach is a 5 minute walk.

Low-key, clean, quiet & well-kept, with friendly, welcoming staff. Other guests were friendly without being inappropriate; the common areas are big enough that you can be social or keep to yourself. Hot tubs were nice - the hot tub at the Worthington has better jets than the Alcazar.

We've stayed at several places in the past, but The Worthington has been by far the best resort we stayed at. We were greeted with a friendly smile, given a tour of all three resorts, and shown to our room. Everything, including the premises, were very clean. The pool was checked and cleaned daily, which made me very happy, and employees were constantly removing dead foliage and gardening to make sure it continued its appeal. Our flight was later in the evening, and though we had to check out, the front desk expressed that we should definitely enjoy the entire day by the pool. They held our luggage, and they even provided a bathroom with a shower in the lobby. This really took the stress off to know we could enjoy the day, but still shower before we left. If you don't have a car, there is a free shuttle to Wilton Manor on Saturdays that picks up in the front of the building, it runs until 1:00am. We honestly didn't have one problem here and enjoyed every minute. Great find, definitely will be back!

We booked this resort based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed. We arrived late evening, due to delays at MIA airport, but were greeted by friendly staff and quickly checked in. After a brief tour we were shown to our room which was very nice and happened to be right next to the pool.

We met a lot of great folk from all over and everyone generally was friendly. The free continental breakfast was sufficient and served from 8am until 10:30 am and you can eat either outside or there is an inside space over by Villa Venice. There are vending machines on site for soft drinks, water and even beer, however there is a local store not too far away. In the room there was a resort guide gives you all the detail sod lots of local attractions and amenities such as stores, bars clubs and resturants.

We mainly stayed around the Worthington side however there are 3 pools and 2 hot tubs in total which all residents have access to and all 3 have their own separate entrance which can be used by residents.

One thing we would comment on was the friendliness and exceptional customer service of the staff. The gardens and pool areas were well maintained and kept incredibly clean. We even saw the staff hosing down and scrubbing all the sun beds on a daily basis. We had an issue in the early hours of the fist stay and instantly the issue was sorted.

The resort also puts on a free shuttle service on Friday and Saturday evenings which means you can get home safely if visiting Wilton Manors.
If we head back to Ft Lauderdale then we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: While we had a room right by the pool (128) we did have the laundry facilities out the back of the b...

My Partner and I have stayed at most of the gay guest houses & Resorts in Fort Lauderdale, and they all do a very good job. If you are able, arrive on a Saturday. The Worthington host a Happy Hour and was a great way to meet all of the other guests. Hosting the happy Hour sets the Worthington apart from the others, we met most of the other guests on the first night . I don't think our trip would have been as much fun, without this first night event.
