This was our 4th (out of 5) hotels on a 10 day fly drive and on first impressions, the room was bright and spacious. On a first floor landing (british use ground and first floor, not the US first and second), and this was fine. Two quen sized beds with room to move about the room, although the gently sloping floor gave a nautical feel to the room! Staff were friendly enough, but lacked some local visitor centre type info. Hotel was a short walk to the beach and restaurants near by. Weather was lacking (not hotels fault!) but a nice day was to be had sailing the fort lauderdale rivers on the water taxi.

My 3 "old geezer" buddies and I spend four days in Ft. Lauderdale every April and this was our first time staying at The Winterset. We had a wonderful experience during our 2012 get-away. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful and made us feel right at home. The location is convenient to many of our traditional "hang-outs" up and down the beach. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and the daily rates are very competitive. We'll look to return next year to The Winterset. Kudos to Maggie Martino, General Manager, and her professional staff in making our 2012 stay a memorable one!

We travelled from Miami to Orlando and stopped here for one night on the way. We really enjoyed being in Fort Lauderdale, and this hotel is brilliantly suited to people who enjoy beach & poolside breaks.

The room wasn't ready when we arrived, but the staff were great and organised another one straight away. It was clean and cool (very grateful for the A/C) with a well stocked bathroom. Lots of towels which was very useful.

The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay here.

Flossloss,
Thanks so much for staying with us. There's always rooms for you at The Winterset! Thanks for noticing the accommodating staff. They work very hard to make sure the guests are happy and taken care of. Next time you should just skip Miami and stay a few extra days in Ft. Lauderdale. You won't be disappointed:)

The Winterset was a Great place to stay me and my husband stayed for 5 nights in a one bedroom it was beautiful!!. The only thing me and my husband didn't like was the front desk there was a lady there i believe her name was Erika we had walked into the office to check in and it smelled like cigarettes and marijuana she did not look like she was in the rite state of mind. Her jailhouse tattoos very unprofessional. I believe this brought down the rating she was very unprofessional you have to have better employees to match your beautiful hotel we would suggest a drug test cause something like this will scare a lot of guests away. We know you will sort the problem out, but other than that we will be seeing all next year.

We stayed here 4 nights in March. An old time 2 story place, refurbished,L-shaped surrounding the pooI. Nice greenery and trees. Peaceful. I thought I had booked a room with a full kitchen, but it turned out to have only mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. No cups or dishes. Awkward, but Amanda immediately whipped into action and provided them. The room had two king beds, but no chairs or table. Again, awkward. It must be intended for a family or four people batching in together. Clean, lots of towels (beach ones, too), 3 blocks from the ocean and a twenty minute stroll to shops and restaurants (we don't drive). A short bus ride to the Galleria Mall, which has a large supermarket opposite.
Seeing people checking out on the weekend, I asked Maggie if we could move to a place with a full kitchen. None available, but the owners, North Beach Group, run several properties in the area, so we decided to move 2 blocks North and one closer to the beach. The Robindale Suites, a full kitchen for $20 more. They moved our bags for us.
Winterset maids did their job and all the staff were competent and friendly. Whenever Maggie or Amanda saw a guest they inquired if everything was ok and did we needed anything. Genuinely solicitous and helpful. We preferred the Robindale, which I'll review separately.

BettyMontreal,
What a nice review, thanks so much. North Beach Village has something for everyone, and we will do whatever it takes to make sure our guests are satisfied with their stay. That includes moving them to a different one of our hotels, like we did with you! We all have different tastes and we pride ourselves in having a little something for all types of guests. Thanks again, NBV
