“Wonderful stay for our family.”
Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here Father's Day weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Beach was nice - did some snorkeling and sun bathing. My husband and I utilized the spa which is complimentary for platinum premier members. Spa is beautiful and so relaxing. Top notch fitness facility for those over 16. Lovely fire pits at night. Very well managed resort and great staff!

We stayed for one night as part of a road trip we took from Tampa to Key West and back. We were there for our wedding anniversary. I mentioned this at check in, and not only did we receive an upgraded room, but also some treats and a hand signed card in our room. This was really above and beyond what I could have expected. The staff was all genuinely nice and seemed interested in welcoming us. We enjoyed the beach although I would agree that the staff on the beach did not offer to help us set up at all. We ate a lunch at the ocean side restaurant and it was excellent, although a bit pricey. We had dinner at the 20 20 place (something like that) and again the food was great but the prices a bit high. I would highly recommend this hotel and would be happy to go back in the future.

Thanks again to the staff for making us feel so special on our Anniversary.

Room Tip: High floor with Ocean View

I cannot begin to express how well run this hotel is. We are Marriott Elite members and travel exclusively w/ Marriott and while we are generally pleased, this resort exceeded our expectations.
We stayed for 4 nights and during that time we came across many staff members that were just a delight to talk with. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Constance and another man behind the front desk. They took note of our elite status and thanked us for being loyal members. I thought this was a nice touch.
The room they gave us was gorgous and clean. The bed was soooo comfortable and we got 4 nights of great sleep.
One day we ordered in room service and the woman insisted on pouring me a cup of coffee while I was in bed. I am a mom so I never get served, it was such a TREAT. I enjoyed that coffee in bed and it made my day to be treated like royality.
We met ROSIA another morning when we ate downstairs and she was just the sweetest lady. I really enjoyed chatting with her and it was a pleasure meeting her. I would want someone like her working as part of my staff if I were running a hotel.
There were many other staff from the doorman to the hotel concierge that were exceptional.
As far a the resort, well it is very nice. The pool is inviting and the beach is gorgous. There are plenty of water activities right at the resort. There are children activities too but we did not bring our children on this trip. We enjoyed eating outside a Sea Level almost everyday.
You can walk the strip to the shops and other places to eat....about a mile or so.
The hotel is modern and clean. We would go back for sure.
Someone is doing a great job managing this resort and it shows. If you go, I am sure you are going to have a similar experience.

The hotel and surrounding areas of laid back Fort Lauderdale are worth visiting even if you are looking for just a place to rest your head, we stayed for two days and were just breaking up our journey around parts of Florida, the staff service was not of a high standard but everything else was if a good standard and as it was just for a few days it was acceptable I believe we were spoilt in Miami!

We stayed at The HMB end of May/beginning of June 2013. The hotel ist gorgious! Absolutely nice atmosphere, clean und well maintained. The staff at the front desk were very friendly upon arrival. The concierge always helped us with all sorts of questions. The doormen and bell captain were extremly friendly. Everytime we left oder arrived we received a warm "welcome back, nice that you are here!" or "Have a nice day, enjoy!" They came running to open the door for us. Really outstanding service which made us feel at home.
The food at the Beachbar was excellent and they always refilled the glass with softdrinks although we only paid for one. ;) We had a snack and drinks at the pool which arrived fast and it tasted delicious.
The ladies in the souvenir shop were also very nice and helpful.
We had an oceanview room on the 9th floor with a balcony. We could see the ocean through the bars.
There is a laundry for the hotel guests which ist very cheap. We didn't use washing mchines. instead we had our clothes washed by the laundry service. Everything came back the same day, clean und nicely ironed. It was a bit pricey but worth it.
The housekeeping was prompt and perfect, too.
We had breakfast buffet sitting outdoors. Don't miss it! It's fabulous.
There ist absolutely nothing negative to say about this lovely resort! I would always love to return!

Room Tip: oceanview on higher floors, avoid room beside the ice-machine

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. Great property and service in most departments. Mediocre service in specific departments which is why we did not give it a perfect five stars. The bar staff was amazing (I think Jen was our bartender during the weekend). Breakfast was awesome! We walked to the main drag for lunch and dinner. A nice stroll along the beach (about one mile) to get you to the heart of the action. We did have a few issues which were kind of shocking for how nice the place was. We had an issue with our room which was resolved the next day (we were "upgraded" next to elevator and ice machine which constantly runs and buzzes. In the morning the maids slamming their carts and knocking on doors kind of killed the relaxing part). After moving to another room it was nice. For the beach, my wife and I found scattered beer bottles (glass) on the beach (Marriott's beach). Also, trash and used towels were common. The beach staff (young men) seemed to be more interested in their phones then helping people set up chairs and clean the beach. We watched these poor old people lift and carry beach chairs around. If Marriott fixed the beach issues we would give it a perfect 5 stars. We recommend Coconuts for brunch and the scratch corned beef hash or yolk sandwich for breakfast.

Stayed here on 5/31/13 prior to leaving on cruise. Hotel Is very we'll kept and clean. Service was excellent and food was good. We have been to numerous Marriott properties but this is probably the best. We had an ocean view room which was very nice and yes the view was excellent. As with most Marriott properties, it is not cheap but worth it.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room. Not cheap but worth it.
