Trendy hotel that pays attention to the details. Beautiful accomodations with a friendly and attentive staff that goes above and beyond their job descriptions. I highly recommend this hotel for business or leisure.

The hotel website makes it appear as if the hotel is near the beach, has a tree lined running path, has easy access to boating and other water activities, when it fact the hotel has none of the above. You have to take a shuttle to get to the sister hotel that is on the beach (which ran out of rental chairs so there was nothing to sit on at the beach), the "tree lined running path" is a side walk along a 5 land busy road, if there are trees, they are in people's front yards, and we did not see boating/kayaking or any type of easily accessible outdoor activity. The "state of the art fitness center" was anything but - it was the most basic hotel gym I've been to.

There is no convenient place to grab breakfast at the hotel and dinner options are severly limited.

The hotel rooms are over-priced and the hotel charges for every little thing (you have to "rent" a computer by the minute to print your boarding pass!)

The service was poor, the location was poor, the only saving grace was 2 good restaurants nearby (15th Street Fishery is a must).

I felt misled by the hotel website and was upset that the hotel staff was not helpful and inflexible to any requests. If you are going to Ft. Lauderdale, get a hotel right on the beach.

Booked this room over internet. Stayed 2 days before cruise and one day after. Loved having the water taxi right beside the hotel buttttt.....it is not a cheap hotel at $200 per night and eating their breakfast buffet is a real rip off at $25 per person. Our last day we were in room 3335 and the carpet was very dirty all along the desk and bed. Did like having a private balcony to sit on but in this paticular room it really wasn't private because you were directly facing the people on their balcony very close across in the next unit. I expect clean carpet in a room you pay this much money for.

We stayed at Ft Lauderdale Grande Hotel for a couple of nights before a cruise. The hotel was wonderful and right on the water canals. The rooms were very clean, comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the water way right outside of our room. The management was very friendly and the conceirge helped us book reservations for dinner and gave great tips on where to go.
The pool area was really nice and had a tiki bar where you could order food and drinks. The chairs around the pool were comfortable, and plentiful.

We rode the water taxi up through the waterway and looked at all the beautiful homes. You can take the water taxi over to the beach also. The water taxi stops right outside this hotel.

The hotel is just a few minutes from the cruise docks. We took a taxi over there in just minutes. I would highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

The Fort Lauderdale Grande is beautiful. The decor has a modern flair and it immediately puts you at ease. The suites have baloncies that open up the the view of the water. Also, the pool bar is great! They provide great service with nice little extras like IPOD docking stations and Krups tea/coffee makers.

We booked a group of twelve at this hotel and received mixed reviews from our membership. Many people complained that the least expensive (Lauderdale Rooms) had limited or no "view" out the windows. Rooms above the fifth floor in the tower offer a nice view. The bathroom design is awful. The hotel recently invested a great deal of money for very fancy fixtures that are extremely inconvenient to use. Our maid service was the best I have ever experienced. The location is more than a half mile from any reasonabley priced food establishment. A free shuttle to the beach stops right out front.

Very nicely redecorated hotel; we had booked quite a bit in advance and weren't that thrilled that we got a room only on the 3rd floor. It had a balcony, but it overlooked the roof which housed all of the air conditioning equipment....not too happy with that, although we could still see the 17th Street bridge as well as a few of the large cruiseships in dock directly ahead of us.
The very small, open design lounge that was in the lobby was severely overpriced (close to $7 for a beer !) and the food menu was even more ridiculous (things like a $15.00 burger)......unfortunately, without taking a water taxi (thankfully the stop was right in front of the hotel), there was nothing within walking distance where one could go to get a meal.
