Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina
Ranked #58 of 127 Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
Reviewed February 12, 2014

Perhaps it was only at my end of the hallway but the room we stayed in (in the tower) was beginning to show significant wear, which is not something that I like to see at a Hilton. The hallway door frame had large chunks taken out of it (very unsightly) as did the bottom of the bathroom door and the bathroom shower had a large rust stain and dirty grout. The room was otherwise very nice.

The concierge and bell were very helpful though very busy. The main lobby was strangely small and was congested when we arrived. Granted, a number of cruise ships had just disgorged.

The location is great. We were able to take the Water Taxi for a tour of the inter-coastal waterway as well as for transportation to shopping and restaurants. The cruise ship terminal was visible from our room and the airport is nearby.

I liked the wide and bright hallway on our floor which was very visually appealing and calming. The pool and pool area was very nice. The restaurants were lacking though.

Dear Felsztyn,
Thank you for staying with us and for taking time to share your observations. We’re pleased you enjoyed our pool area and the view from your balcony, and that you took advantage of the Water Taxi stop at the corner of our property in order to see the Venice of America from the water. In order to attend to the room issues you describe, it’s important to know your room number; I will reach out to you to get that. We invite you to come back soon.
Warm regards,
Neal Spivack, Director of Rooms, neal (dot) spivack (at) hilton (dot) com

Perfect location. Easy stay and access.

My wife and I stayed 1/19/14 on a Sunday for one night before cruising. Overall the stay was perfect and I would stay here again without hesitation for the price.

I booked 14 days in advance on the web "blind" but I knew I was getting this hotel by process of elimination. Price was very well below advertised. Think Ben Franklin total.

The hotel is clean all over but tired in most areas. Elevators, halls, carpets, trim, furniture, doors and fixtures are all showing wear. Knew this by the reviews and was not disappointed. Again, it was clean so we were fine with it. Cool shower.

Service was excellent by every one we dealt with. We got there early and checked in at 12:00PM. I politely asked for a room in the "tower" with a balcony facing the cruise ships. I was told there was a room available immediately but there was no balcony. I politely asked if there would be room available with a balcony later if we waited (we went to eat and stopped at the local Walgreens all less than 4 blocks away) and I received exactly what I asked for. They stored our bags (the bellmen were all very nice) and called us at 3:00 PM and told us the room was ready.

The room overlooking the cruise ships was the bomb. Balcony, chair and table. Sipped wine and watched the ships (6) leave. Very nice start to the vacation.

We went took a cab ($13 with tip each way) to Los Olas Blvd and ate at Sushi Rock. (Perfect little hole in the wall. Packed and loud and authentic.) We then walked the Blvd, looked in the shops, caught a cab and went back to the hotel.

Next morning we made the below average coffee in the room and I went down and grabbed a muffin and some fruit from the coffee shop. It was $13. That's expensive.

We left the hotel at 10:30 AM. It was busy as expected with cruise shuttle vans all over the place. Shuttles to the pier are $6/pp. They push the shuttles. They really push the shuttles.

WE DID NOT TAKE THE SHUTTLE. Waiting for a van to fill with people and loading and unloading the luggage is a hassel I want to avoid. I asked for a cab. The valet said it was cheaper to take the shuttle as a cab would be $12+tip.

We took the cab, it was $7.80 on the meter +tip for 2 people. The cabbie said they would gladly take 4. Think about it. Who is making the cash on the shuttle?! Don't buy their speil that the vans are better. The cab is far easire and thus much faster no matter how you slice it. We were at the pier in 8 minutes, standing on the curb, with our bags in hand.

Hotel location is perfect. Service was perfet. The building is tired but it works perfect! Next trip out of POE and I will stay here.

Room Tip: Get there early, be polite and ask for aroom in the tower, high enough to overlook the ships OR the...

Big hotel, very busy but still friendly and helpful staff. Lot of cruise ship travelers at weekends . Nicely situated by water/yachts with walking distance to restaurants and close to water taxi station. Rooms are bright and clean. Avoid rooms next to the parking if you are sensitive to sounds. Poolside is somewhat busy in the weekends still very nice, pool bar ok very but slow service.

My family stayed at this hotel for our family vacation last summer. The staff was extremely friendly during our stay and the hotel seemed very clean. It is hard to nit-pick about the hotel, because we were off enjoying the beach, but we were very pleased with our stay.

This hotel was very comfortable, it had great amenities and friendly staff. The hotel is on the waters edge with large yachts parked up by the side. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. There is a lovely swimming pool which we did not have time to take advantage of. As a stop off for the cruise it was excellent the transfer was included to the cruise terminal was included. A few shops are not far with free wifi available.

Dear Debbie Stillman,
We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us before your cruise – we are the closest hotel to Port Everglades with great views of the ships entering and leaving port. Fort Lauderdale has the most yachts per capita. Come back soon and take time to enjoy our lovely pool area.
