The staff at this hotel were great. The hotel, less so. I was there for a conference this week. The property is lovely. When I got to my room and started to unpack I found a half loaf of bread, peanut butter, potato chips, etc., in the dresser drawers. Although the bed was made and the towels were there, it was obvious the room hadn't been cleaned properly after the last person checked out. When I took a shower, the shower drain was completely plugged. It baffles me that the housekeeping person didn't report the plugged shower unless they just wiped out the tub but never ran any water. The front desk people took care of the hotel problems efficiently, apologized profusely, and gave me a bottle of wine, which was nice. But it shouldn't have happened in the first place.
Props too, to Josh and Russell, the bellmen who helped me several time. They were both friendly, efficient, and took good care of me.

This hotel was a disappointment. The location is poor. It is not near either the beach or the las olas shopping area. There are only a few places to eat within walking distance and the hotel food is grossly over priced. A small package of cereal, cup of coffee, and banana cost $15. The common areas are worn down, couches are stained. The rooms are dirty. We had to have housekeeping change the duvet cover the first night because there was dirt and hair on it. The windows had a face print on the inside. Furniture was chipped. I would stay away from this hotel. Even if you have a conference here, think seriously about staying elsewhere.

Room Tip: In the tower, odd number rooms have a better view.

I stayed at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina while at (sort of) a conference this week and I just checked out. The property is spectacular, right on the Marina, with breath-taking views, new, relatively clean rooms and a great poolside setup.

Problems with this hotel:
1. someone needs to dust! There is a good amount of dust on the doors to the bathroom. Or a just vacuum could do the trick.
2. No hooks to hang anything up, except in the shower, so essentially useless.
3. Housekeeping does not refill the free coffee and cream on a daily basis and the coffee in the lobby area costs $6.00 with taxes. Unacceptable- if I have to go to Starbucks to save money on plain ol' coffee.
4. Again, cheapness noted with providing an adequate amount of towels and shampoo.
5. 3 out of the 4 elevators were not working today at check-out. Not sure of reason.
6. Under no circumstances should you be tempted to buy the Sangria. It's $7.00, so it's a deal given that drinks are over $12.00 at the bar, but if they're charging $6.00 for coffee... then...please draw your own conclusions.
7. Humidity is an issue in the rooms- AC control is so-so
8. There is no way to avoid a massive leakage of water from the shower. Bad shower door set-up there.

Positives:
1. Very good front dest staff. Thank you Kalina for being so helpful on a few occasions.
2. Adequately clean rooms otherwise.
3. Great pool area; Free water and towels at the pool with option of chairs or beds.
4. Free shuttle to the public beach.
5. Food at poolside bar is pretty good! (and not too pricey)
6. Neat, new, sleak appearance to entire hotel including the rooms
7. Comfortable, albeit small beds
8. Hospitality of staff on grounds

Room Tip: Stay away from the side by the highway- the exhaust enters the rooms when you open the balcony door.

I'm a picky person. This hotel has 4 buildings, one tall and the other 3 are small buildings of no more than three floors. I had booked for a room overlooking the pool. I did not know that this hotel was 4 buildings and on arrival my reservation was for one of those small buildings. These small buildings in their great majority have poor eyesight. The view to the pool of small buildings is very bad because is blocked by palms.
If you are an elderly person like me, you have to walk far to get to the room.
A breakfast for two will cost you $ 44 plus gratuity.
The daily parking costs $ 21 if you park it yourself or $ 25 if a valet parking.
The room is very clean but I returned at 3 in the afternoon and nobody has cleaned the room. The same happened the two days I was there.
My advice if you are considering this hotel, First make your reservation by phone. Only then you can be sure to have a room with a good view. Remember the buildings with small rooms overlooking the swimming pool access, most are blocked by palms.
To end down the road from the hotel there is a Publix and a chipotle Mexican restaurant. You can save a lot of money going there. Definitely for what I paid, I do not know if I would come back.

Stayed here twice within 4 weeks both for sales meetings.

For both trips my room was dirty. For example, I removed the hair dryer from the towel space in the bathroom and there was tons of dust. Rooms are worn out, not up to full service Hilton standards at all.

The gym has rusty equipment, falling lights and disgusting carpet.

Overall the facility is not safe. If someone has children I would imagine they could very easy fall into the water as there are no gates or anything surrounding the facility.

Both times we booked meeting rooms. First time meetings were on the 4th floor, OK but no view, windows are too high.

Second meeting we were on the ground floor near the kitchen. The staff was unbelievably lound and rude.

I think they need to clean up the property first before anything. The rooms need a good coat of paint, new carpets and retraining of the cleaning crews.

I wouldn't stay again.

Disappointed enough to write this review now on day 2 of 4 at Hilton Marina. Here for national medical conference. Conference facilities are fairly good, save for the lack of restrooms on site. Hotel rooms, however are quite disappointing. Made reservation over the phone for waterview room, $299 nightly. Ended up in 4th floor room in the west wing with views of noisy highway and cruise ship terminal, no water. Hotel was completely booked, so I was told there was no option to change rooms. Room is a mix of some updated fixtures to perk it up, however doors were chipped, peeling paint, carpet old. Cleanliness was also lacking -- carpets clearly had not been swept, dust bunnies on lamps, bathroom counter dirty. Beds did not have bedspreads or duvets, merely a knitted blanket on top. Though in sunny FL, froze overnight and had to pull blanket off second bed to stay warm. Hotel staff were friendly enough, but there was no attempt to address customer satisfaction.

Overall, would pick a different option when in Fort Lauderdale. Be wary of booking a conference here!

Room Tip: Avoid the west wing.
