The rooms are large and clean and comfortable. We got upgraded to a top floor room with a view of the port and free wi-fi for $15 extra, which was a sweet deal. They had a free cocktail reception party each night and a cooked to order breakfast. We bought the cruise package which included pick up at the airport and transportation to the port. This was a great service - we were picked up less than ten minutes after we arrived at the airport and it was seamless getting dropped off at the port. The hotel has lots of staff and a concierge, so it’s easy to get help and they were very well trained and service oriented. We will definitely stay here before future cruises.

Room Tip: All rooms have a small balcony. Rooms facing east look over the port, but only if your up on one of...

This hotel was a quick taxi ride from the airport. The fare was $15, we gave an addition $5 fora tip. Upon entering the hotel, Carol, at the front desk, waved us over and very efficiently got our room keys for us and told us about the free Manager’s Reception and Breakfast in the morning. Carol was friendly and welcoming. This Embassy Suites is very old and in shows in many ways. Just to get an elevator to our floor took the longest time, I wish we could have figured out how to take the stairs up one level – we could use them exiting the hotel, but not going from floor to floor. I was so disappointed in our bathroom and how dirty the floor was, I also was not happy to have to request an ironing board – to me that should have been in our room. The room was warm, we turned the AC down to 65, and put the fan to medium. We ended up opening the balcony door, which did cool the room down, but our room overlooked the hotel entry and a very busy street. Once the room was cool, it was comfortable.

I liked that there was a sink and mirror in the bedroom, so I could dry my hair while my husband showered. The living room had a nice desk with space for two people. The TV had nice channel choices. There was a tiny coffee pot, we did not use it, nor did we use the refrigerator.
We were looking forward to the Manager’s Reception, however the crowds were incredible, we didn’t think it was worth the wait. I’m sure this can be attributed to all the cruisers getting ready to cruise somewhere the following day – just like us! We also skipped the free breakfast in the morning because of the crowds – people appeared to get their food and then park themselves at the tables, so had we waited in line for the breakfast, we probably would have had to take it to our room.

We used a reward certificate to receive a free room at this hotel, so it wasn’t horrible that we left the hotel and paid for drinks and supper, and then left again paying for breakfast. If we were paying for our room, we would not have enjoyed the crowds and constant waiting for the benefits this hotel is supposed to offer – such as manager’s reception and cooked to order breakfast. We thought the location of the hotel was very nice, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Next time we are in Ft. Lauderdale we will stay somewhere else, but in this general area.

We did enjoy having the Harbor Shops just around the corner from the hotel, nice Publix and Total Wine. Lots of places to eat – we had supper at Duffy’s and it was very good.

we ended our cruise vacation with an overnight at the Embassy Suites in Ft. Lauderdale. We found the place spotless and a very friendly staff. It was a great way to end our vacation. The fitness room was clean and well outfitted with plenty of cardio and some free weights. We enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks in the evening. The pool and hot tub were very well maintained, both were very refreshing. I would love to go back on our next trip to the area.

We really enjoyed our stay here. They were friendly, the room was clean the staff very friendly and the hotel was beautiful. The morning breakfast was amazing, the cocktail hour each nice was really nice. Will definately stay here again when in Ft. Lauderdale. Just out the back door is a small strip mall with restaurants and a grocery store where we purchased pop, water and whine to take on our cruise. We ate at Duffy's Sports Bar, Joe's Diner, Lauderdale Grill and all were very good. Just a short walk down the street you can pick up the water taxi or you can hop on the trolley for $1 and take it to the beach.

Room Tip: This hotel is located near everything you want to do or need!!!

We always choose the Embassy Suites on 17th Street as it's very close to the Port (we like to cruise on Princess) and it's handy to the Airport as well. There are great restaurants within walking distance as well. The pool is just lovely and we always like to spend a couple of hours relaxing poolside before or after our vacation. We try and stay here before our cruise and for a couple of days afterwards. Definitely recommend this hotel to travelers. We will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: They offer rooms facing the Port or pool, but we have faced 17th Street a few times and it's fin...

Very nice and exceptional in all staff related items. Staff personnel pleasant and quite helpful Breakfast was overcrowded and never got to it. Evening cocktails were well made and demonstrated professional qualities.

The room set up was nice, however the smell ruined it all. I requested air freshener three times but to no avail. By the second day, just having my clothes in the same room of the smell made them smell a little bit... I started to keep them in the other room where it didn't smell so bad. The bed was ok, everything else was ok. Next time I will look for different hotels to stay.
