I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale for a family reunion. I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. It all began when I arrived to the hotel and was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff at the front desk by a sweet woman named Carol. She was very accommodating and professional. She also inquired about our stay and how things were going when she saw us walking around the hotel. We were very pleased with the lay-out of the rooms. They are very accommodating for families (the living room space with a pull-out bed if needed). The rooms were also cleaned very well on a daily basis. The manager of housekeeping had a visible presence on the floors and continued to inquire about the quality of the cleaning service in our rooms. One of the best perks about this hotel is the made to order breakfast and happy hour that is complimentary with the stay. In the morning the breakfast included omelets, french toast, pancakes, cereal, eggs, hash browns, fruit, yogurt, etc. The best part was that there was a great spread and it also tasted pretty good for a complimentary breakfast. The happy hour is great as well and the hotel has very friendly and accommodating bartenders as well. We received great service from one bartender named Jorge. There are other perks of this hotel including the gym on the top floor, the nice pool area and restaurant, however the best perk is its location. It is only a couple of minutes away from most things in Fort Lauderdale (i.e. it is very close to the local beach). Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel to any and everyone. I hope you enjoy it, if you have an opportunity to stay there.

Room Tip: If you are afraid of heights request a lower floor because the hallways of the rooms are apart of an...

Although the rooms are able to accommodate queen beds, standard full beds remain, however this hotel still represents real value to anyone whither traveling alone or in a group. The in-hotel desk staff, on the evening shift out preform the day shift 10-1 in terms of responsiveness, courtesy, and customer service. Those answering the phone in reservations need to learn good listening skills from the evening counterparts at the front desk, because those like Carol, cover the PR sins of the others, with her ability to troubleshoot and resolve any problem. She and the evening manager go the distance to make it right, a quality so rare. With Hilton now having ownership and continuing to give service to EVERYONE regardless of national origin, politics, personal habits (legal) or creed is a testament to the type of real service others can step up to. We had some difficulties with our reservations but the service and kindness we received overcame our difficulties. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Let me start by saying that we did not pay much for our three-night stay booked with Hotwire. Found the hotel in need of a good deep cleaning, but other than that, it was OK for the price paid. Our particular room had an off-putting smell in the sitting area of the suite. Rooms are quiet, in spite of them all opening on to the atrium lobby. Free breakfast and manager's reception are nice touches. Pool area is nicely done. The hotel is within walking distance of quite a few restaurants. Proximity to the airport and Port Everglades is good.

My family and I have stayed at this property at least half a dozen times. We keep coming back for several reasons. First, it's like having two hotel rooms. Our kids (ages 11 and 9) sleep on the sofa bed in the main room, while my husband and I enjoy having our privacy via the door that shuts between their room and our bedroom. The balcony is small, but nice. The best view faces east, as you can see the 17th Street Bridge, the Atlantic Ocean, and Port Everglades. A pool view is also enjoyable. The pool area has a cool waterfall and lots of beautiful palm trees. It's a great place to enjoy the Manager's Reception. Rooms overlooking 17th Street can be noisy with traffic and especially on weekends with crowds of people across the street at Waxy O'Connors.
The complimentary breakfast in the mornings is good. There's always plenty of seating in the lovely atrium, which has many live trees and little bridges across streams of water. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, including a Publix supermarket, which is located in the plaza directly behind the hotel. Since the hotel has a refrigerator, you can save money by buying a few groceries, instead of eating every meal at a restaurant. The Sun Trolley stops at the Publix every 15 minutes or so. You can hop on the trolley for 50 cents (just be sure to have correct change) and ride it to the beach, the Galleria Mall, or downtown.

Room Tip: Request an east facing or pool view room. Try to avoid rooms that face 17th Street, as they may be n...
