Pelican Grand is very nice. We came in for 1 night as we were leaving the next day for a cruise. It is on the beach but it is some distance from all the hustle and excitement of Fort Lauderdale. The rooms are beautiful and large! There's a separate living area with views of the beach/Atlantic Ocean. Spectacular! The restaurant was very good, I had eggs benedict for breakfast on Sunday. We had such a great time eating on the patio and our bar server was awesome!!!
While there for our short stint, there was a lot of road construction and beach erosion work (I assume). The surrounding area is mostly homes and apts with a sprinkle of more hotels. We couldn't find any night life outside of Pelican Grand so we hung around their bar area for the night.
Sadly, one of the two elevators was not working so we had to use the maintenance or service elevator to avoid a long wait time. If the elevator was working, I would rate this as EXCELLENT!!
I'm getting to the point and realizing there are too many clean and beautiful beaches in Florida, so why am I traveling out of the USA to enjoy sand and the ocean.More
